You know, if I had the $$ and she could prove she was not a liberal, I’d front her the $$ to cover operations for 90 days on the condition she raise her prices commensurate with her increased labor costs JUST to demonstrate what liberals/Seattlites are: Raving hypocrites.
I’d lay dollars to donuts she’d have to fold anyway, but what a statement it would make.
hint/hint
Pizza dough is already being shipped frozen to shops. It’s only a matter of time before machines are making/baking/cutting/packaging nearly all pizzas and likely most fast food...
I can’t eat the crap anyway. Worse, most chain restaurants’ entire menus come out of the freezer or a container...all junk.
Quality food typically comes out of small shops or food carts these days, sometimes at a premium price, sometimes not. Hard work and long hours for those folks...tip ‘em well...
I wonder how Seattle is seeing what is going on to small businesses? Thank you, Seattle...
More and more “big” chains seem to be packing more of some kind of additive or chemical that triggers migraines and worse a few times. Seafood seems to be the worst offender.
I stick with the small timers and mom/pops. There are a few chain ones that don’t affect me.
My favorite small timers are a husband/wife outfit that does german sausage and the like. I discovered them by accident a few years ago. Great stuff and great people.
New Hampshire has some nice malls... because of zero sales tax.
Good one! I'm gonna steal that.
Atlas is Shrugging my friend. It won't be long now before the whole socialist/marxist pipe-dream for re-working the American economy into their own vision comes tumbling down on their heads.
You are welcome to it.
Next I expect the Seattle socialists take her and other business owners to court to force them to keep their business open and fine them if they dismiss even one employee. Own your own business, not in Seattlegrad!
Didn’t Hillary say something about “not being responsible for undercapitalized businesses” during her Healthcare debate back in the 90s?
Ha! Beat me to it. That’s what I get for not reading all the posts before I open my mouth.
Bienvenue à New Hampshire
Massachusetts State Troopers do that, too, only undercover. New Hampshire has invited them to leave. What they do is take license plate numbers and radio down to MA, where the Staties intercept the miscreants when they reenter MA. (Take the back roads home, next time.)
Someone snapped pictures of a car with with Massachusetts State Assembly plates, and pictures of the Solon loading his car with cartons of liquor. Talk about hypocrisy. The pictures were all over FoxNews25 Boston and the Herald. Somehow, the Staties and Boston Globe missed him.
A friend closed his pizza joint down a few years ago. He had it for 20 years. Bad economy, increasing minimum wage (”and if I have to pay my worst guy more, I want to keep my best guys happy, so their wages go up”). I loved their pizza and forced myself to go in there and drop $28 to feed my family once a week - the prices were crazy.
But he said a huge factor was the price of flour and vegetables. Well, when the farmers stop growing wheat and vegetables to get the government subsidies to grow ethanol corn - that will happen.
“I hope he has a lot of students in his classes.”
The University of Washington is raising some student fee that the students pay in order to pay more to the students that work on campus.
Stories of waitresses complaining. “I used to get free parking, free food, and overtime. Now I don’t get any of it. And I make less tips. I’m losing money.”
You read it in a book.
Well done! LOL
“Planning on sharing this rule with some Dems.”
It won’t make a difference in their beliefs; they’ve been brainwashed. I know some libs - two of them very well. We’ve mentioned that raising minimum raise would force some businesses to close. They truly think that everyone who owns a business — even the mom-and-pop type — are wealthy. They think that the money is stashed in a mattress or safety deposit box and are lying when they say they can’t afford to pay employees more. (We shake our heads in disbelief.)
Bet nobama has an orgasm reading that.
I don’t get it, it’s illegal to buy booze across state lines??
