"I pointed out the flaws in all of your claims. . . the errors in your thinking. IF you had stopped and bothered to think for just a few moments before you rushed to bash, you might have wondered how it would effect just a few flights.

A few flights? American Airlines reports their entire 737 fleet was affected. And see Sparky AGAIN you have missed the picture. First if you had read my postings I said the APP glitched. Now the APP system was designed by...

Wait for it...

Wait for it...

Apple.

Their system is setup to be a single point of failure. One App update OR one software update can render the units so it will not work properly AND BY FAA rules since the unit is in essence the flight plan and the flight plan and documentation is then not available on the flight the plane must be grounded.

And as I am sure you know Apple has issued glitchy updates that cause problems with the units. (can you say Apple Maps debacle? I know you can...)

So to review. FAA approves iPads to be used as Flightplan/documentation for Flights in the USA.

as has been pointed out by a Freeper claiming to be a certified pilot those FAA rules state that if you don't have the flight docs on board the plane doesn't fly.

And as is painfully obvious to anyone with an IQ above 70 an app OR the entire OS can be glitched by an update as you have pointed out ("Frankly, it could, but it has not yet."

And being apparently no one thought to have a backup plan my question is if Apple has an OS glitch that makes the units not perform to the standards the FAA has set, or an app renders the same situation with an update then do the planes just sit there or does someone figure out that Hardcopy should be available so the planes can fly till Apple or the App creator gets a fix?

Apple.

You do not know what you are talking about. Apple did not make the APP. Jeppeson made the App. These are easily proved facts!

Apple made the OPERATING SYSTEM and the hardware which did not "glitch" and did not crash! Get it through your neutronium dense skull Apple had nothing to do with this . . .

Jeppeson Aviation, a company owned by Boeing, made the APP which could not handle a duplicate chart in its database, which Apple had nothing to do with except it ran on Apple's hardware, just as it runs on Microsoft's Windows hardware.

American Airlines reports their entire 737 fleet was affected.

Learn to read for comprehension, Mad Dawgg, not for emotion.

You have been told by people who do understand quite well what has happened here . . . but you are so determined to blame Apple that you are blinded by your delusions and your emotions. The problem was solved in just a few minutes.

READ WHAT I TOLD YOU ABOUT THE REST OF AMERICAN AIRLINE'S FLEET.

I have read a lot more on this "glitch" than is in this one mistaken article. . . Other articles covered it in a lot more detail covering the actual cause and the solutions undertaken, most of which required downloading a new version of the FlightDeck App for the rest of the Fleet with an updated database, and using a PDF version of the Ronald Reagan International Airport Chart for the flights going there on their iPads.

There was no grounding of AA's 737 entire fleet. NOR did they require the rest of the pilots to not use their iPads. As I told you, the only flights that had a problem were those where the flight plans included a stop at Ronald Reagan International Airport. ONLY THOSE FLIGHTS. . . none of the others would even see the problem because they would not load the duplicate chart.

Ergo, all your histrionic, emotive blow-hard bloviating on this thread is pointless, especially where you are ignorantly trying to blame Apple for a problem that is inherently a Jeppeson Aviation software glitch in their database.

You anti-apple people are so delusional you cannot see how rabidly insane you appear when you cannot accept that you are at all wrong about anything.
