I had never heard of Fire Island, either, but think it was mentioned in a story concerning Barney Frank a few years back. If I remember correctly, Barney tried to cheat the fairy service (can’t make this stuff up) on his way over to Fire Island by demanding a senior citizen discount or some other scam.

I had never heard of Fire Island before, but with Barney in the story, I made certain assumptions about his destination.

Sadly you are correct. To think there is any hope they will not force homosexual marriage on everyone is to have not read their previous rulings. Unless something has changed their minds since then, and I doubt it.
