IMO, no US citizens on board is, of course, a good thing I take as a given from all the reports, but it is not the biggest concern as to how the Obama Adm is obligated to respond. After all, we have too many instances under our belt affirming that US citizens in distress are not a top priority with the obama adm-—unless, that is, the distressed US citizens generate embarrassing publicity for the obama adm.
The reliably of the info you posted in post 253 is the bigger issue-— and that info appears very reliable...and also confirms other independent sources.

Naval units from Iran's elite Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) seized a cargo ship in the Gulf on Tuesday for legal reasons, an IRGC source was quoted as saying by state news agency IRNA.
Iran's semi-official Fars news agency earlier said the ship was seized after a court order was issued for its confiscation, referring to what it called financial differences between Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization and the vessel's owner. It did not identify the owner
