Two Texans Vie For Iowa - [Cruz]

For the two Texans eyeing the presidency, Iowa is king.

Following this weekend's trip to the Faith & Freedom Coalition forum, Sen. Ted Cruz and Gov. Rick Perry have logged 13 trips a piece to the state since 2013, outpacing every other Republican White House aspirant, according to the U.S. News Presidential Tracker.

The repeated trips demonstrate the importance of the state to both Cruz and Perry, who are both vying for the evangelical voters who dominate caucuses. It shouldn't be a surprise that the two past caucus winners – former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum are close behind.

On the Democratic side of the ledger, the action was in South Carolina, where the state party convention took place Saturday.

No, Hillary Clinton was not there. She has yet to make a voyage to the Palmetto State this cycle.

But Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley made his sixth trip to the state since 2013, pacing him ahead of even Vice President Joe Biden.

His hiring of those back-stabbing GOP-E traitors should tell everyone that Rick Perry is not a Tea-Party Republican and he is firmly on the side of the GOP-E. It is an indictment of Rick Perry where his character is concerned.

You’all forgot about austin barbour, henry’s brother and another of haley’s nephew’s. Does Rick Perry having two of haley’s nephews on his payroll mean Rick is vying for haley’s support? I think jeb has that wrapped up.

Always liked Gov. Perry, feel that he has terrible managers. First, they have him set up with those ridiculous eyeglasses. Then, they have him speaking outside the podium, like Sen. Cruz.

His biggest asset is he “looks” presidential. Take off the glasses, put him behind the podium with prepared text. While speaking at the Iowa Forum, he looked so uncomfortable and awkward - like Victor McLaglen in the old movie “The Quiet Man.”
