By now, you’ve probably heard of Kristen Lindsey. She’s the veterinarian from Brenham who’s given more bad press to the state than Blue Bell after she posted a picture on Facebook of herself, smiling and holding an arrow with a dead cat on the end of it:

I don’t understand how people can be so heartless to a innocent animal feral or not.
That’s how I can elevate an animals life.
I’d rather see that arrow in Charlie Manson.
I shoot feral cats often enough. I don’t want them predating on my chickens and I don’t want them fighting with and injuring our barn cats.
I should note that the feral cats I don’t shoot tend to get killed by the hawks, coyotes, wolves, owls, foxes, and our dogs.
And, no. I am not interested in trapping them and taking them 40 miles into town so the animal control can do what I can do just as easily without leaving home.
That people are getting bent out of shape about this is just ridiculous. Outside cat with no tags, no collar (as evidenced in the picture) is a stray/feral cat. If it belonged to someone that loved it so much, they should have kept it on their property by whatever means necessary. For a cat that probably means keeping them inside.
I have had my dogs catch a stray (on our property) and play tug of war with it. Didn’t kill the cat straight out and we were forced to put it down. In the process of fighting for its life it bit one of the dogs and the bite got infected. Then, the little gift kept on giving, it had kittens that were left abandoned. Well the coyotes can get them or some equal horrible end, or they can be shot. The local cat rescue would not take them, plus I had to endure an earful for BS when I made the mistake of saying my dogs had caught the mother cat.
Bottom line, her property, her discretion to take care of an issue as she sees fit.
Sad story.

Man, that vet is one pretty woman. Too bad she’s nuts.
When you have to take one of your own cats to the vet for the nth time to get it patched up after a fight with a feral or after you lose 85 baby chicks to a feral who killed them just for fun then killing the little vermin becomes pretty easy.
I figured we'd hear that sooner or later. I really don't understand the mentality of those who believe that caring for animals and opposing abortion is an either/or proposition. It isn't.
The Bible is clear that we should care for innocent animals---God's creation---and treat them well.
Having said that, life for ferule cats is a misery. I would rather see them put down then suffer. These are domestic animals and yes, they can live without people but should not. At lunch today I saw a few cared for out side cats. They were adorable and I wish I could take them but my house is full(both cats and dogs). I know these cats have someone that feeds them regularly but they should not be where they are either. And that is life a mixed bag of wonderful and such sadness. Yeah I am faky about pets. Flaky city......LOL
So you let your cat roam, knowing that it being killed prematurely by something is a good possibility, but you don’t care enough about it to prevent that from happening.
Look at her photo and look at the video in post 57, the timing of the kill and the missing cat of the elderly couple fit.
No one has commented on the cat’s missing leg.
Doctors, many of them, seem to have a need to be in control.
In some regards I can’t blame them since the majority of the people they see are complete idiots.
When they encounter an educated patient they can choose to do battle in some “ego play” or treat them with the proper respect.
Sadly, it’s the educated people that bear the brunt of the Physicians desire to “Practice Medicine”.
The picture I saw showed the cat with an arrow through its head. That’s likely as instantaneous a method as could be done any other way. There’s no torture there. The animal didn’t suffer.
Whether it was actually a pet cat doesn’t seem to be clear. If it was a pet gotten by mistake (the picture didn’t show a collar) then that’s sad for the owner, but there’s not much to be done about it. If it was indeed a feral cat, there’s no particular harm done. Perhaps even a service. I have no idea how big a problem there is with feral cats in that area, but they can be a very real problem when there are big numbers of them.
So is this woman a nutcase? I don’t know, but this lone event doesn’t say she is. If there are other things happening, then we’ll see. If she wants to cull the local feral problem with her bow (and she does appear to be a an excellent archer) her first step should be to stop posting pictures of them on Facebook.
If it was someone’s pet they should have kept it inside.
I despise cats roaming outside eating birds. Outside they are all feral & doing what comes natural.
The woman appears to be a little nutty, the cat was a pet, it was her first kill with her bow ( pet kitty at her home, hardly proof of expertise), and why is the cat missing a leg?
I live in the country and have had my cat for 8 years. It started out as being an inside cat but once it started going outside it preferred to be there. Cats love to roam and hunt. He generally sleeps in a box in the garage, even thought my girlfriend bought him this little “cat house”. I care enough about the cat not to try and keep him cooped up in the house all day when he would rather be outside chasing chipmunks.
