Protests to demand answers in the case of Freddie Gray, the 25-year-old black man died in Baltimore Police custody last week, descended into chaos on Saturday night.

After a few hours of peaceful demonstrations, scores of rowdy protesters crowded outside Camden Yards, where the Baltimore Orioles beat the Boston Red Sox in ten innings.

Spectators at the game, with a reported attendance of 36,757, were told that they could not leave the baseball stadium until cleared to do so by police, who allowed them to exit shortly after 10pm when the game ended.

I think 36,000 people should be able to take on a few hundred.

Completely correct. And that's the reason the Police interceded. They were there to protect the protesters.

"Why did the Baltimore Police allow this violence?"

Because whites make the laws and blacks don't have to obey them. Like 0dumbo and that pesky Constitution.

Yes, I suppose the police could have said, “Land of the Free” and let the fans go out amongst all the feral zombies, but then the avalanche of lawsuits would have begun from families of fans injured or even killed by those zombies.

Maryland “Freak State” DANG!

36,757 was the paid attendance. The stadium was half full so it appears some folks never made it into Camden Yards.

> Well, they could have used their freedom to go out on the streets and been beaten to death by the mob. Just show their freedom and independence.

i.e. “shelter in place”

MATT DRUDGE on Twitter: Another day in USA: Obama yucks it up in front of drooling press crowd as Baltimore spirals with race riots.

The sheeple went to the game -the others stayed home with their sixpack on the couch & allowed the ONCE great nation evolve into Nazi Germany. Nice go'in Whitie.

Officials in NY told people to shelter in place at the 2nd World Trade Center
after the first tower was hit.

That did not work out very well for them.

The issue is not that it was a good or bad idea to leave the Stadium.

But they were FORCED to stay.

I’m not sure what happened to Gray, and frankly that seems like a very suspicious situation, but this is not how to handle it at all.

Inconveniencing people without violence? Sounds like EXACTLY the way to handle it.

All but the oldest FReepers are fed up with violent LE. Hopefully, things are going to change.

According to the story, the Bloods and the Crips now have a truce, brokered by the Nation of Islam. Peace in our time! /s;)

No, I’m sorry, riots are not the way to handle it.

How the Hell do you fight crime by committing crimes?

What did the people and businesses being attacked do to deserve being attacked?

Are you ****ing kidding me, dude?

I’ve heard speculation some of the protesters were kind of a renta-mob and bussed in. If so, who the hell finds and pays these people to respond to US hotspots?

Not giving them a pass but not being from a large city I accidently got stuck near Baltimore Stadium after a game. It took hours to get out of there. It made me real happy to come home to my one-horse town.

Anyways, the game goers could have been sitting ducks for the protester/rioters if they were in the area. The traffic moves very, very slow.

This is why I wish my home out in Almost Maryland would secede, and build a big honkin' drawbridge right were I-70 and I-81 meet. They built those damn prisons out there, and now all these feral gang animals from Ballmer are showing up and getting popped for drugs and whatnot in the local hotels. My mother is retired, widowed, and alone up there. Without a gun.
