Walker to the right of everyone on this issue. It also seals his fate as the nominee...and future POTUS.
He will pick up millions of Reagan Democrats.
If he holds fast to this he could ride it to the White House.
I was in the Cruz camp, but Walker has staked out a better position on the invasion/cheap labor importation.
If hope he sticks to it and he’s not just saying this to get elected. I have real questions of his sincerity.
He has a history of supporting amnesty. He has associates (Preibus, Ryan) who are cheap labor importers. There is a group calling itself Voces de la Frontera, Voices of the Frontier (of Mexico) that has been operating in WI since 2002. One would think if your state has been colonized to the point of having foreign speaking groups setting up shop thinking the frontier of Mexico is very far from the real frontier of Mexico one would notice before now.
No doubt Jebbie will try.
It absolutely baffles me why ANY politician would support Scamnesty. It is THE #1 concern of people in this country, so why are they supporting something that is going to make them lose an election? It’s like these RINOs and Democraps are willing to fall on the knife for a greater cause which I suspect is importing votes for Democraps. But if they don’t get elected how does that help? They are freakin’ nuts. Freakin Marco RINOio and Jeb BushRino supporting Scamnesty....WHY??? How the hell does that help your election?
(Criminal invader) - "Hey, I'm sorry I broke into your house! You caught me red-handed!"
(Walker) - "You need to leave!"
(Criminal Invader) - "I'll leave...but if I ring the doorbell and politely introduce myself, may I come in?"
(Walker) - "Sure! Come on in! Help yourself to the finest America has to offer!"
Well, Mariner, it’s not his message, it’s his actions. His message is just precious there, but really... who are these guys— saying, “undocumented workers”? They are ILLEGAL ALIENS!
How would he deal with those here illegally? That is the question. What’s his plan? Does he mean “some” or does he mean “all” illegals should return.
This is not breaking news. Maybe he doesn’t have it in its entirety, but this is what they ALL say, that illegals should return.
So, under President Walker, how. does. that. happen?
My only quibble with his position is that I don’t know if tightening legal immigration makes sense. I am not even sure what he means by that yet, but I think the legal immigration system needs to be modernized too, through technology and to provide more avenues for skilled workers to come here. The system does not reflect today’s working society. Technology sector wasn’t around in it’s current form. It was a manufacturing and agricultural rooted system, both of which have evolved dramatically.
Bottom line, we have to control our border, use technology to modernize the system and recalibrate who gets visas and citizenships. No special routes for those here illegally.
I am in center right on what do with those here. I am fine offering a special temporary work visa to those here, especially with families. No citizenship, but legal status. To me, that’s a fair compromise to get the rest.
Walker TALKS to the right. And for now. Of late. What’s his story other than wanting the nomination?
Does he even tell us why he’s suddenly talking anti amnesty?
Naïveté is not good right now
I think the establishment/leftist cabal prefers Walker over Cruz.
yup. this is the prime conservative strategy. the Reagan strategy.
When the NYT speaks, the question is not what are they saying.
The question is why are they saying what they’re saying.
Because they lie. So the thing to do is figure out the motive. Loss of credibility is the price they pay for being liars.
He will bury Rubio and Cruz and gather in the legal, intelligent types of Mexican American voters who abound in my experience and who know the devastation these illegal immigrants are causing. Go Walker. Mean what ypu say and say what you mean.
I fear he will have more flexibility after the election.
He is #2 on my list of those that have announced
My analysis of Ted Cruz on the topic:

and
How do you know this time he means what he says, he has a history of bluffing when he deems it politically expedient to do so, and apparently it works as many fold into his camp; so when he is called on his bluff what can he say to those in camp he bluffed... if evidence is any indicator he can simply reply “I’ve Changed My Mind” of course their is plenty of evidence that works for him as well.
Our Free Republic is in dire straights and needs a leader not a poker player whose tell is the bluff, but I get it; that is what some want, another slick willy (who also had a pretty good record as Governor), as time goes on he will become more transparent where most will see right through him.
Yes I am biased by evidence of leadership straight, true and unchanging with the political winds... CRUZ 2016!
After giving a version of his stump speech to a mostly gray-haired crowd in Iowa, Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin was pressed on Friday by two twenty-something Republicans about a percolating issue he did not mention:How convenient for him to have those 2 twenty some-things in a sea of gray asking about an unmentioned percolating issue.
Why wasn't the "percolating issue" mentioned before?
Words are great but actions matter more.
Sadly I no longer trust Republicans after Boehner/Mcconnel betrayed Conservatives on this and other issues.
What is the NYT’s problem with a 24 yo calling himself “young”, when they accepted CommieCare’s definition of 26 yo as “children”?
Talk is cheap, but so far Walker has both said and done what he intended to do.
While I may not trust him, nor anyone else, he has done the most to earn my trust.
And that alone might be enough to win my vote when the time comes, which puts him at the head of the class...and it's not an Ivy league class, either!
There is nothing tough about protecting American jobs, no matter what
color, race and background one is from.
Walker has hit the central nerve on this issue.
Distancing himself from Bush, Rubio and Cruz on immigration is a winner in the primary.
