Senate confirms Loretta Lynch as next U.S. Attorney General
Los Angeles Times ^ | 04/23/2015 | TIMOTHY M. PHELPS

Loretta Lynch, after being kept waiting in the wings by the Senate for five and a half months, was confirmed Thursday as the first African American woman to serve as Attorney General.

Lynch was approved 56-43, one of the narrowest margins in history for an attorney general nominee.

The vote ended an unusually partisan episode in modern Senate confirmation history, in which a largely uncontroversial nominee to one of the top cabinet posts was kept out of office for a lengthy period over issues extraneous to her job.

Oh, I’ll never do that until we have a Libertarian Candidate that isn’t half Looney Tunes, LOL!

I’m just bloody p*ssed right now! Johnson has done this kind of stuff before.

I’m glad that I’m not a pessimist concerning this issue as you evidently are.

If you had the political power necessary to change the 17th amendment, it would no longer be necessary for you to change the 17th amendment.

What about your oath of officer, Mr. Johnson?

Does it mean nothing to you?

Someone who has openly stated that the President is above the rule of law is A DOMESTIC ENEMY OF THE US CONSTITUTION, FROM WHOM YOU SWORE TO PROTECT THIS CONSTITUTION AND NATION.

Did you mean the oath, or are you assuming that the checks and balances written into the Constitution were just some old dead white guys being racist?

He had a commitment to get to in Texas and had to catch his flight. That is what is being reported.

For your attention, Folks:

We have just witnessed a pivotal moment in our history - NOT because of the first black female AG, but rather the continuation (even the acceleration) of the Obamagenda, including weaponized law enforcement.

AG-designate Lynch categorically stated during Senate testimony that her job is not to uphold the laws of the land, but rather to implement Obola's whims.

That’d be a tough one for me. Same visceral reaction to the GOP brand as to the Democrats nowdays. I could vote for Cruz as a Republican but down ticket is going to be a problem. My Boehner-loving rep. most certainly won’t be receiving a vote from me.

"...and the president has the right to select members of his cabinet."

And the F***ing Senate has a right to confirm who they wish. What's more, you are supposed to be representing *YOUR* constituents, not the Interests of the President.

Do you understand what it takes takes to amend the Constitution?

"uncontroversial!!! anti 2nd amendment, pro civil forfeiture, pro ILLEGAL amnesty, said illegals have as much right to jobs as us!!!"

You omitted "anti-Semite" and regular old whitey hater. She strikes me as one of those 'black theology' types.

I expected that. His spokesperson commented to the press that he had already voted NO in committee and voted NO on Cloture, and that once Cloture was passed, it was a done deal. Therefore, no need to waste time when campaign obligations are needing his presence.

But out comes the Walkerites and longtime trolls to stir up dust over a non-issue.

“the first African American woman to serve as Attorney General.”

I wonder how much we’ll be reminded of this irrelevant fact over the next two years.

And one of the Senators who voted for the continued politicization of law enforcement - nixing the US Constitution - is from Wisconsin, and he did it right after the public became aware that normal families in Wisconsin have been terrorized by politicized law enforcement on a vendetta against the supporters of Scott Walker.

The people of Wisconsin need to say “Hell, no!” to the crap that the lawless thugs have done - and need to demand that those who take an oath of office KEEP that oath to protect and defend the US Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic.

I’m sure adding to that list could be a thread unto itself. And WTH is Linda throwing her bra into the presidential ring for after voting for her nomination.

I don’t think they research anything Sarah. I’ll bet most of them scarcely read a bill before voting on it.

Staff members brief them on the general content of the bill, the finger goes up into the wind - and then they vote based on what’s going to keep them on the DC cocktail party list without getting into too much trouble.

Is there any question now that there is no political solution to our problems?

Very much so. It also occurs to me that asking such a question implies that you don't. Not realistically anyway.

Yes, it was a done deal after the cloture vote. Apparently he was due at a meeting being held in someone’s home for he and Heidi. If his vote could have made a difference, he would have without a doubt stayed.

The GOOD NEWS is, after many months of screwing up as our new DOJ AG, I THINK HER DEPLORABLE ACTIONS WILL HURT HILLARY’S CHANCES AT GETTING ELECTED. The best man for the job is a female? Lynch’s pathetic stance on issues will HURT Hillary!

Agreed, I have no problem with him not voting.

5 (in)Justices. That’s all it takes.

Or - if you’re of the “birthers are embarrassing” ilk, or apparently Sen. Ron Johnson - however many dead voters or flipped votes it takes in a few large democrat precincts to add up to 51% electoral votes.

That’s all it takes to amend the Constitution. In the current state of affairs...

He also avoids the debate question, “You voted ‘no’ for the black female.. Are you sexist and a racist”?
