I think that the purpose of this article was to attempt to equate Muslims not paying interest with Business owners refusing to serve gays, because of religion.

Well he can always welch on his interest and have a judgment levied against him. Then he is not paying interest but rather state ordered restitution for lying about his willingness and ability to repay a loan. Since he never plans on taking a loan again he won’t care that his credit is shot.

Well, I tried looking it up in my copy of the koran, but there was a bullet hole right in the middle of that section and the other one I have has some fecal matter or something on that portion...so, I gave up.

For most of its history this was exactly the view of Western Civilization.
The Church prohibited interest from about 350 to somewhere between the 16th and 19th centuries. I’m a little vague about when they gave up.
