It's hard to hear what that lady was saying to the officers before she was approached, but her tone was provocative. When I first saw her, I thought she was pointing a gun at the officers. Also, of course, guns can now be made to look like cameras, phones or other objects. I was expecting that the officer would take her down after disarming her, but I guess he felt that she was no longer a threat.

Personally, I'm glad that he didn't shoot her and chose instead to risk his life by approaching her, but she's probably still walking the streets tonight.

” and chose instead to risk his life by approaching her,”

Obama says you can openly serve in the military now.

I guess you didn’t notice those two other cops who were much much closer and DIDN’T go bully her.

He never perceived a threat. He just didn’t like her filming them. So against every court ruling on the topic, he goes over and smashes her phone. After smashing the phone, he never goes to examine it, or tries to detain her. There was no law enforcement purpose in his mind. He was a bully, and doesn’t think the public is his master.
He needs to be immediately fired.

WTF are you prattling about? The only guns that are anything more than single shot, no sight, contact distance, novelties all look like guns. And you certainly wouldn't try shooting one of several heavily armed and armored SWAT guys with one.

Not unless you were aching for a dirt nap.

I had the impression the woman was simply narrating as she was filming. The LEO nearest the woman wasn’t upset she was there, just the LEO further away who charged and assaulted the woman. I call bad move on the officers part. Assault and battery?
