This again is to bring up the strawman fallacy that you must be able to put your hope in a politician.

Glad to hear it. You almost sounded like one of the GOPe fear mongers.

Don’t fear the GOPe, but consider fearing the Lord, for whom there is a time that “he who is not against us is for us.”

The last two noted rounds of circular firing squad gained us the failed candidacies of John McCain and Mitt Romney.

I think it helps. The polling data suggesting gay marriage has majority support is at odds with all of the states, including liberal states, that have attempted to enact gay marriage bans, only to have them overturned judicially. Some see that discrepancy as evidence of the “social desirability bias” at work, i.e., people lie or waffle with a pollster but vote how they really think because they have privacy, anonymity. Which, if true, would mean the numbers for traditional marriage might be significantly better than they seem.

So perhaps Ted’s honesty will be met with a secret and massive sigh of relief that we actually have somebody in the race who isn’t going to cave to the gayhadis. Remember his game plan. He wants to awaken the sleeping evangelical giant, the folks who have dropped out of the political process because they never get represented. He’s auditioning for them, for us. We do have the sheer numbers, if we could get them all together and motivated on election day. He’s not triangulating. He’s making a double or nothing bet ... on us.

Peace,

SR

Thanks for the insight. Shame on me for fearing that a candidate mention moral absolutes or praise Jesus and God.

It is perhaps illuminating to compare how the “gay” campaign is going on compared with how the racial civil rights movement was conducted.

One is very low class. The other was very high class.

America’s morals have gone into the gutter in more ways than one, that such a thing could ever fly.

It’s a spiritual battle and unless viewed as such, it will be lost.

The high ground was slowly given up over decades as “Christian” opinion got very laissez-faire on extramarital sex and divorces. If an infection, it is opportunistic. The necessary strengthening of the body politic will never work if it is only attempted to be encapsulated in the sound bite “We Hate Gays.” The devil laughs as he looks how etiolated Christendom has gotten.

The problem is a lot more complex than most people realize. I could go into a long and boring detailed description of what has happened and why, but I don't think either of us has time for it. I will just point out Four factors that have a significant impact on what happened.

1. World War II. Reduced male population in the United States, and the left behind females had to become more promiscuous to compete for the remaining available males.

2. Anti-Biotics Invented. The newly discovered antibiotics made it possible to treat what was previously untreatable and very deadly venereal diseases. It didn't cure them all, but it certainly reduced anxiety for the possibility of contracting some of the dangerous/deadly ones.

3. Birth Control Pill. Unwanted pregnancy was likely the most feared result of promiscuous sexual encounters. Reducing this anxiety increased probabilities of promiscuous sexual behavior.

4. Post World War II prosperity for the USA. Due to the fact that much of the remaining world's production capacity was in the toilet, and because nations were relatively poor, they turned to the still running factories of the USA for much of their purchases. The USA saw some of it's greatest financial growth during this period, and people were living better than ever before, and with more money to spend. Prosperous times usually result in a decline in morals. (See 1920s.)

Due to these and other factors, the "Sexual Revolution" of the 1960s, was virtually guaranteed.

Help will come from heaven if Christians become serious again and beseech it for God’s glory.

We need to have a revival of sheer Christian faith and consequent virtue, and politicians can’t do that to America. That is why Cruz is thinking outside the political box.

Not to mention you cant tell a gay person just by looking at them, well, most of the time lol.
The black oppression was a different story altogether. It was illegal to serve them in the south.
I’m not saying he was a great man, but had he lived, he might have hated all the handouts and dependence and fought it.
Not looking for a fight with southerners. They are the heart and soul of our country. It was what it was and it is over.

Blessings and trials can be used as occasions to indulge self or to honor God.

To claim that they MUST result in evil is to generate propaganda for Satan.

It may be his fate to lead a Christian revival but not the country. That would be a far more important role and one I think he would embrace.

So many of the pastors are fearful of recalcitrant deacons and pew-sitters. But many too are just plain liberal.

Good points you make, but points soundly rejected by America’s liberal electoral college majority.

In my opinion Cruz touches on a core issue here that many overlook.

The trend is for more common law marriages. There isn’t any court documentation. The children of these relationships are easier to fall through the system. Society is not served well by this.

The family unit is the corner stone of this nation. The Left knows this. If they can destroy the family, there will be more dependents on Leftist government programs. We’ve seen them attack the family at will, with fervor.

The reason this issue is important, is because it reveals Cruz to be an uncommon man. He is a Conservative at his core.

His core beliefs are such, that he instinctively defends sound values each step of the way.

I quibble with him on one issue right now, and it does disturb me, but at the end of the day, Ted Cruz is the only man out there that is a die hard Conservative at his core.

He sees things in black and white. He knows there is a right and a wrong. He knows that Christian values and good morals are the most important resources in our nation.

Supporters of other candidates will not see the value in Ted. They’ll be convinced their candidate is no different. That says more about them than it does Ted.

THIS is how a republican candidate responds to ridiculous gotcha questions from the corrupt leftwing mainstream media.
