Psychologically healthy people do not commit suicide. Changing genders is an outward expression of some form of depression that started long before the suicide.

The entire LBGTxxxxx(sorry, I cannot remember all the letters associated with this group) community needs psychotherapy. Pretending that there isn’t anything amiss in their minds is not doing them any favors.

Its not supposed to. Every gay suicide is considered to be due to “bullying”, which includes heteronormative or cisgender privilege. A dead homo is a club to bludgeon our nation’s morals to death.
When you allow people with an genda to force changes in what is and is not a mental illness you end uop with lots of dead kids that did not get the help they needed.

Gender is one of the most fundamental aspects of one's identity. People who have serious mental issues sometimes turn against their most fundamental characteristic, not because they want to "be" the other sex, but because they are rejecting themselves. They need serious therapy to learn to accept themselves. Doctors treat the gender-confused by assisting them toward changing their genders.
I think that any "doctors" who prescribe hormones and even surgical mutilate the patients are not doing anything for the patient at all. (I think many of them just do it for the money.) After all those hormones and all that mutilation--the patient's ego remains, and they remain the same person with the same problems, but now in a mutilated body. The problems that caused that person to reject him/herself still exist.
One exception to this generality, I think, is the children. I think that in some cases, parents want so desperately to have a child of the opposite gender that as soon as their son displays a "female" behavior, or daughter displays a "male" behavior, they're off and running with forcing this idea of "transgenderism" on the poor kid. Kids go through a lot of play-acting, and it really is NOT unusual for a kid to show an interest in an activity that is stereotypically reserved for the other sex. If Mom paints her fingernails, her two year old son might want his painted, too--but that does NOT mean he is transgendered. (In that exact same situation, I put a speck of nail polish on one of my son's fingernails.) It means that he wants to do what Mommy does. To assume anything else, and--worse--to act on that assumption--is child abuse.
It used to be that we treated people who could not accept the reality of what they see in the underwear for their obvious mental condition.

Just because one cam claim a gemder preference. Unless their body parts change with it. As with discharges of eggs from a male body part, and sperm from a female body part, that really would validate their claim. Otherwise that claim would seem to be a mental disorder./s
