No. Congress is completely capitulating. They have rewritten the Constitution’s advice and consent clause.

Neither party gives a damn about the Constitution. Political expediency rules the day.

I am underwhelmed.
Like he had a freakin’ choice?
Odumbo is teetering on the edge of a certain impeachment.
Elections have consequences.
.
His cute “I`ve got a pen and a phone” meme ceased to be cute years ago.
The injury to the nation that would result from his impeachment pales in comparison to the result if he ISN`T impeached.

Our congress has insisted on rubber stamping any Obama action.

What a country!

Well there’s a misleading headline if ever there was one. Read the proposed law. Obama played the GOP BIG time on this one.

With all due respect, this is never going to happen. The GOP does not have the will or political courage to do this. They just want to ride out the next 19 months of this disaster.

The country will suffer greatly in the mean time. And the damage from the Obama Tsunami will take decades to recover from, if ever.

True, but that was no great feat. The GOP is a pushover. It is nothing but a political punching bag for the other party.

I don't think for a minute that Obama is just being gracious and "allowing" Congress to provide advice and consent. He got backed into a corner, and this must be sticking in his craw big time.

On the other hand, now he will have Congress as a co-scapegoat if this foolish plan of his "blows up" in his face. Or Israel's face.

The legislation turns things upside down - instead of 2/3 of the Senate needed for approval (the normal course of things), now 2/3 of the Senate is needed to disapproval of this agreement. Assuming it is a “treaty”.

The Senate can't make such a rule change unless it pushes through a Constitutional amendment. In Section 2, Article 2, Clause 2, the Constitution requires a two-thirds vote of the Senate to approve treaties.

The question now will Netenyahu follow up on his threat and if so when and how will Iran and the rest of the world respond.

-— This is pretty much the worst thing the senate has ever done -—

Yup. Acquiesced in the face of evil. I wouldn’t have understood that without Levin or FR, which is why the internet is in the Commie’s crosshairs.

Agreed, but Congress is seeing this as something 0’ pushes thru the UN, by not calling it a treaty; thus, it is acting with legislation... tiptoeing around the Constitution in tandem with the won. They are complicit.

When there is DC agreement that parts of the Constitution need not apply, they just push forward, stomping on it along the way. Look at Article I Section 8, clearly deliniating what Congress can do... and stomping on that with isolated instances probably back in the 1700’s, ramped up on its stomping thru the 1900’s, and now zooming exponentially with major Constitutional stompings in the 2010’s.

There is another part to the question: what will Obama do to hinder and prevent a response by Netanyahu to this imminent existential threat? Obama does not want any “disruption” to his plan to elevate Iran to world power status. He is hell bent on allowing it to become a regional power. That much is perfectly clear.

It will not make any difference.

Following Corker & Co. and doing nothing will assure that your prophesy comes to fruition.

Is that the way you want it?

The Congress gets to vote on RE-imposing the sanctions that Obama is going to remove. It requires 2/3 votes to override Obama’s certain vetoes of any such reimposition. The Republicans in the Senate carefully crafted this “compromise” in order to definitively remove any roadblocks to the granting of Nuclear capability at an early date to Iran. I believe the first nuclear exchange in history (Hiroshima was not an “exchange”) will occur by summer next year. If Israel hesitates in the clutch it will consist of Tel Aviv getting nuked followed immediately by the vitrification of Iran. Sunni Obama wins and wins again as the two main enemies of Sunni Islam will be eliminated. And we will not know just what the origin of that first nuke will have been.

He is NOT following the Constitution. The Senate isformally abdicating it’s Constitutional power.
