The US Congress will have a say on a nuclear deal with Iran, under a new agreement reached with the White House.
President Barack Obama withdrew his opposition to a bipartisan bill that was unanimously passed through the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
The bill means the administration must immediately send text of a final deal to Congress.
An outline agreement on the future shape of Iran's nuclear programme was reached after marathon talks in April.
The US, Iran, and four other nations have set a deadline of 30 June to finalise a deal which would ease western sanctions in exchange for restrictions on Iran's nuclear programme.
Some Republicans have argued against the deal, saying that Iran has received too many concessions.

From CNN:
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee unanimously approved the new version, which Democratic lobbying had watered down, in a vote Tuesday afternoon.
This cannot be good.
And, I bet we find, makes it totally worthless. We'll see that the Pubbies bent over and reached for their ankles yet again...
—The bill means the administration must immediately send text of a final deal to Congress.—
Do they have to sign off on it in order to find out what’s in it?
Just because everything else the “Senate” has ever appalled (er, approved) the last 16 years has been an abject failure and rejection of American values, why do you think this particular measure is a bad thing?
I believe “It’s a trap.”
And the ‘pubs will be blamed for anything that goes wrong.
Appears to be a toothless 30-day review period, no mention of the word “vote” or “approval” of the deal. Just 30 days of bloviating by the likes of McConnell and Graham.
This will only give legitimacy to the final capitulation by Obama. And this on the day after Russia announces plans to ship the S-300 missile system to Iran.
The only thing that would matter is an up or down vote on the treaty. Win or lose, let Obama veto it.
Are there 67 Republicans in the Senate? How did that happen?
Boehner and McConnell's say...
What did they have to promise to get Obama to agree to cooperate? It was either that or Obama gave in to what he perceived to be a PR disaster in the making.
Obama fears nuclear war and does not want to take all the BLAME ,LOL
Congress’s winless record on deals with Obama is intact.
Did he grease congress first?
It’s about lifting the sanctions that the Congress imposed.
I fear the Republicans caved to Obama as readily as he caved to the Mullahs.
Corker (and the WH) believes he has a veto proof majority.
We’re getting another one of those “TRUST US” BS from these “SPINELESS WHORES” we elected to protect us.
