Republicans are readying a familiar template: The out-of-touch plutocrat who lives in a world of private planes, chauffeured vehicles and million-dollar homes.
Forget about the Arkansas days, the small-bore scandals, her health care plan, and most everything else from the 1990s. A consensus is forming within the Republican Party that the plan of attack against Hillary Clinton should be of a more recent vintage, rooted in her accumulation of wealth and designed to frame her as removed from the concerns of average Americans.
With close to 20 announced and prospective GOP 2016 candidates, there’s no singular, unified messaging effort yet. But interviews with GOP consultants, party officials and the largest conservative super PACs point to an emerging narrative of a wealthy, out-of-touch candidate who plays by her own set of rules and lives in a world of private planes, chauffeured vehicles and million-dollar homes.
The out-of-touch plutocrat template is a familiar one: Democrats used it to devastating effect against Republican Mitt Romney in 2012.

[Hillary] explained that she and Bill Clinton earned their millions “through dint of hard work.”
“Who talks like that?” said GOP strategist Kevin Madden, who advised Romney’s campaign in 2012. “Most Americans don’t understand accumulating millions in wealth through speaking fees. Hillary Clinton has not driven a car in this century; how can she relate to the cost of gas? How can she relate to rising food prices when she doesn’t shop for herself?”

Operatives worry that over-the-top attacks — namely, references to her age or the Monica Lewinsky scandal — will simply serve to generate sympathy for Clinton.
“That wasn’t Hillary; that was Bill,” said Jamie Burnett, a GOP operative in New Hampshire. “We’re trying to beat Hillary, not make people feel sorry for her.”

In order for Hillary to be like Willard, that would imply she’s really a Conservative Republican pretending to be a Communist Democrat.
The GOPe will gladly take Hillary over a conservative.
It’s easy, She and Bill are wealthier that Mitt Romney is. In fact they are worth 5 times what Mitt Romney is worth today
Very simple. Cast Hillary as zeros third term. Not pretty.

She’s among the top wealthy elite, regardless of whom we wish to compare her to. Personal wealth also is not that relevant in political campaigns. Donations usually vastly exceed what the candidate takes out of personal wealth. Ross Perot is perhaps the wealthiest individual to run for POTUS, worth 3 billion IIRC, yet his campaign budget was only 40 million. Obama was not worth hundreds of millions, but his campaign donations were in the hundreds of millions. All it takes to be in the top 1 percent is making over 250,000 annually.
She isn’t 5 times wealthier than Mitt Romney.
That needed to be corrected. Everyone here knows that she is wealthy, but she isn’t Romney wealthy.

That should be really easy to do. I have no confidence that the GOP can do it. It will end up backfiring because they have no idea how to cast her, even when she does most of it herself.
They need to MENTION Mitt Romney -EVERY time they are talking about Hillary. Every last time - tie them together.
Believe it or not, Hillary has already made the statement that she intends to run as Obama’s third term. How did she miss that that is not a winning strategy? I guess Obama is not the only one who ignored the last election.

Don’t know if the message will get through to the LIVs. I met a woman recently who told me that Michelle Obama is so “funny” and “so down to earth”. Yeah, that same MO who wastes millions of tax dollars on her lavish trips.
Hell, just turn her into HILLARY. That SHOULD do it but might not given the intellectual level (40 degrees below room temperature) of the noloinfo voters, it probably won’t matter.
