"And then you could also have the neutrality of the law that allows people to have contracts with another."

We already do. But they're not asking for that are they, Rand?

I do believe people ought to be left alone,

Well, there's your problem. The sodomites won't leave the rest of us alone. They don't just want to commit anal penetration of each other. They want to get into schools and teach our children about anal penetration, f!st!ng, w@ter sp0rts, and all manner of filthy perversions ... and even commit said perversions on our children. They want to force people to celebrate their perversity. They don't just want tolerance (which they should not have) they want outright approval.

people ought to be treated fairly under the law

Would that include those who, on religious and moral grounds, refuse to recognize "gay" "marriage"?

I wouldn’t bother asking Moonbeam for the time of day. And even if I did I would get nothing but a pile of BS.

[ ...or not regulated by the government at all. ]

Or Let two sodomites live in sin together the same way a glutton lives in sin with their box of Dunkin’ Doughnuts.

You would get scremed at by the left trying to promote gluttony in schools, the same standard should apply to the practice of teaching kids about inserting Tab #1 into slot #2....

I know. I was just yankin’ your chain a bit.

Of course, Terry McAwful is my governor, so it’s not like I live in a glass-free house myself.

Homosexuals are already treated fairly under the law: If they want to marry, they have the same right as anyone else to find a suitable member of the opposite sex and to legally commit to them. What they don't have is a right to change the definition of marriage to suit their proclivities.

Amen!

That is a heck of an if, “if” people would just quit caring if their marriage is legal, then “the system will implode”.

Good luck selling that one to military families.

“I think that the Republican Party, in order to get bigger, will have to agree to disagree on social issues,” Paul advised. “The Republican Party is not going to give up on having quite a few people who do believe in traditional marriage. But the Republican Party also has to find a place for young people and others who don’t want to be festooned by those issues.”

This (below) is Rand Paul being incoherent and floundering when he doesn’t want to answer honestly.

“Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) opposes same-sex marriage, but his tactics for doing so are unique. For example, last month he offered a completely unfeasible suggestion to simply erase any mention of marriage from the laws and establish all its protections through various contracts. But he really isn’t interested in taking any steps to help that along. In an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network this weekend, he expressed hope that by continuing to allow individual states to decide, the debate on same-sex marriage might continue unresolved for several decades:
PAUL: Where marriage is adjudicated, whether it’s at the federal level or at the state level, we’ve always had marriage certificates and we’ve had them at the state level. If we keep it that way, maybe we can still have the discussion go on without make the decision go all the way one way or all the way the other way.
I think right now if we say we’re only going to have a federally mandated one-man, one-woman marriage, we’re going to lose that battle because the country is going the other way right now. If we were to say each state can decide, I think a good 25, 30 states still do believe in traditional marriage, and maybe we allow that debate to go on for another couple of decades and see if we can still win back the hearts and minds of people.”

According to the media 98% of society is gay and the other 2% simply won’t admit they are——

My liking of Paul ended when he decided that his ambition trumped all else. He will kow tow to anyone to get a vote.

You can’t be everything to all people. You end up being “nothing” to anybody.

“I am disappointed that Rand Paul is giving in to the left’s habit of redefining terms in his apparent attempt to finesse his answer.”

Rush Limbaugh said that Rand Paul told him that a candidate can no longer address Americans as a whole; they must be addressed as groups. So, Paul will say anything to anybody. That used to be called pandering, but for Paul that just means he is the ultimate candidate with divine objectivity. He is really just blind ambition that has somehow acquired a pair of legs.
