Most of the Tokarevs are crude, as in the one you pictured above, but some of the later editions are better constructed, with external safeties, better magazine release and retainer and improved sights.
I was kinda surprised to learn that it is still being made by some of the Baltic states.
You'd think they would have had a chance to get hold of a Colt 1911 or something more recent to rip off from.
Someone once told me that the Russian and/or Baltic manufactured firearms had the most proof-stampings of any other weapons.
A close look at one confirms that, as most of them look as though it's corroded, until you see that it is the myriad of stampings on it.
I guess every Ivan, Misha and Boris in the factory had to get his two-cents in on them.

I have my own plans and they do not involve bunkering in with an arsenal of weapons and a hoard of ammo. At 65 I will not be doing any martial arts training either. There are far better and more sensible ways for those of us who are not former Green Berets or Navy SEALs to get through the coming unpleantness...in my opinion.
And why is everyone posting pictures of their guns on this thread?
