An Oklahoma man's last few moments alive after he was accidentally shot last week by a deputy who meant to stun him with a Taser is seen in disturbing video released by police Friday.
"He shot me! He shot me, man. Oh, my god. I'm losing my breath," Eric Harris says as he struggles on the ground with police on top of him.
"F--- your breath," an officer can be heard saying. "Shut the f--- up!"
Reserve Deputy Robert Bates, 73, shouted "Taser! Taser!" before pulling the trigger on his gun, firing one round into Harris.
"I shot him!" the shocked former policeman says, dropping his gun from the recoil. "I'm sorry."
In the video, provided to the New York Daily News, a body-cam captures an officer in a foot pursuit of Harris who is subsequently tackled in the street.

Do you know why people are always dumping on the police? Because they f'ing deserve it.
well, in Chicago you have a whole lot of African-american women who appear to be about 5’ tall and 300-400 pounds who are Chicago cops, and especially bailiffs in the Cook County courts. I don’t know why, and I have no idea how they passed any sort of physical. But I’d rather have the 73 year old dude, typically they would have more wisdom, and some of them old dudes are full of piss and vinegar.
He thought it was a taser which has nearly no recoil.
The trigger on a taser should be made completely different from a gun. Such incidents have happened multiple times
Thank you. I have been preaching that for 15 years or more. Even got a letter printed in a major paper on the subject, after a gun “went off” in a police evidence room, wounding one of the two cops present.
So, if you assaulted me and ran away, I’d be okay shooting you to death? You don’t really propose a different standard for cops’ adrenaline vs citizen adrenaline, do you?

Much police distrust these days. Yet, if Ice T was saying half of the things I’ve read lately this site would be up in arms defending these cops who make mistakes.
The guy gets accidentally shot and they scream and curse at him like a dog. He did however whine like a wussy. Ok, I’ve never been shot but I’d like to think I would react better than that. The police spokesman’s comment that it was an “inadvertent mistake” makes me wonder which mistake they intended to make.
these guys are starting to make shariah law cutting off the hand of a thief look merciful in comparison to killing suspects who pissed off cops by trying to get away
I have had it with these out of control bullies with a badge killing people.
How did the guy in South Carolina resist arrest when the cop asked for his driver’s license, and when the guy reached inside his vehicle to get them, the cop shot him, resist arrest? How did the old guy who reached to get his walking cane and was shot for his efforts, resist arrest?
So is the dead guy.

Well ya have to admit, their numbers are decreasing.
maybe someday those idiots will realize that when a cop yells, “Stop or I’ll shoot”, he means it.

So if these people have no problem resisting arrest from the cops, how emboldened would they be if you or I were the one commanding them to comply?
I have always ASSUMED that if you run from a cop, when he is trying to arrest you, that he/she CAN shoot you. I never realized that is is OK to resist arrest and run. Now I find out you can run, hit the cop, struggle with the cop, injure the cop, and the cop gets blamed. Well for 64 years I thought you can’t resist arrest or run, and you could be shot dead. Sure kept me out of trouble all these years! never been arrested, assumed cops have guns for a reason.
and I HATE cops. We live in a small town where cops are rude, smartaleck, hateful, arrogant, mouthy. They are uneducated, illiterate. and they think their sh!t don’t stink, as my dad used to say about rude people...
And the plan to is disarm cops too....like in England.
