An Oklahoma man's last few moments alive after he was accidentally shot last week by a deputy who meant to stun him with a Taser is seen in disturbing video released by police Friday.

"He shot me! He shot me, man. Oh, my god. I'm losing my breath," Eric Harris says as he struggles on the ground with police on top of him.

"F--- your breath," an officer can be heard saying. "Shut the f--- up!"

Reserve Deputy Robert Bates, 73, shouted "Taser! Taser!" before pulling the trigger on his gun, firing one round into Harris.

"I shot him!" the shocked former policeman says, dropping his gun from the recoil. "I'm sorry."

In the video, provided to the New York Daily News, a body-cam captures an officer in a foot pursuit of Harris who is subsequently tackled in the street.

Who isn’t going to “resist” if several people are on top of you and dislocation your shoulders? They say you’re resisting even when the person is not fighting but in pain Because joints are being damaged.

Oh, then that makes it all better for the dead guy.

Accieent. We can all just go home.

We’re told these are the only qualified people to have guns Because of their incredible amount of training.

Post them, I like seeing good cop stories too. I don’t like seeing good cops screwed by bad cops.

Doesn’t invalidate the bad cop stories or the need to see everything going on. Just because you may not want to see both worlds.

Post good stories. don’t rip those who post the other ones.

Was not accidental. He fired on purpose. At the guy. He just mistook what he as firing.

It makes it just what it was for the dead guy. It was an unfortunate mistake. The officer didn’t intentionally shoot the man and kill him.

While the man’s death remains a tragedy, I am glad an officer didn’t shoot him in the back casually, or out of anger.

Somewhere there was a breakdown here. Training may have been sub-par, or perhaps the age thing played into this.

What we can agree on, is a man is dead and he shouldn’t be. I am very sorry that is that case.

No he intentionally fired a weapon at him.

He said taser, and fired right at him.

It just was not the weapon he thought he was firing. But it was a deliberate firing of a weapon at the guy.

Yes it was a deliberate firing.

Had he used his taser, there would have been no problem. He didn’t use his taser, and the man died.

He mistook his service firearm for his taser.

He meant to stun the man, and instead killed him.

I can’t defend what he did, because it was a fatal accident. He was clearly in the wrong. It was not a murder.

The cop in the vid doesnt look to be 73.

Probably just a transposition, and he's actually 37.

I take it back; he really is 73. Put him out to pasture.

Yes, another day and another cop murdering a citizen. Murder charge, conviction, and jail. Anything less is not justice.

"Driving away high speed or running from police causes an adrenaline dump. That leads to poor decisions."

For those with mental problems.

I did not say it was murder.

I’d probably classify it as manslaughter.

It’s not “anti-police theatrics” to tell police to simply follow the laws they enforce.

Just like it’s not anti-government to request politicians follow the U.S. Constitution.

That shot could have accidentally killed one of the officers being that close rounds can deflect.

If you accidentally killed a random person, then you are still held accountable.

The fact that the rest of the officers are not aware the suspect was shot and the way they treated him was not professional at all. I can’t help but wonder how long was it before an ambulance was called? All the officers involved could be guilty of accessories to murder by not calling in first aid was it was determined he was shot. Based on the video the one officer admitted he shot the guy.

I can’t believe that’s considered an acceptable tactic when you have someone pinned down? This is because its very easily kill a person like that.

People that keep making excuses for thuggish third world corrupt behavior is why this unacceptable crap continues.

Did anyone see this at the end of the article,

Sgt. Dave Walker told the Tulsa World that police “would not investigate the death unless the sheriff’s office asked them to, and they have not asked us to.”

So in other words. It’s okay to accidentally kill someone

“Oh hell no- It’s far more gratifying to IGNORE the innumerable acts of bravery, kindness, courage, self sacrifice and to glom onto a FEW bad cases and make it seem like the whole damn police forces are corrupt killers hell bent on racism”

So we’re just supposed to “write off” these people who didn’t deserve to die because “on the whole” cops are “good guys?” Sorry, no sale, my experiences with LEO’s leads me to the inescapable conclusion that the vast majority of them are so jaded by their daily activities that they are unable to interact with their fellow citizens in a rational manner. And, I hasten to ad, that I haven’t had a traffic ticket ( or even a stop) for more than 30 years. Just go try to file a legitimate complaint against a cop and see how you are treated. I did, and it was the most disgusting experience of my entire life, beginning with being formally threatened with legal action simply by reason of lodging the complaint.
