Holder warns DOJ employees against soliciting prostitutes
FoxNews.com ^ | April 11, 2015 | The Associated Press and Fox News’ Matt Dean

Attorney General Eric Holder sent a memo to employees of the Department of Justice Friday, reminding them that soliciting prostitutes is against agency rules and that violation of those rules could lead to suspension or termination.

“The solicitation of prostitution threatens the core mission of the Department, not simply because it invites extortion, blackmail, and leaks of sensitive or classified information, but also because it undermines the Department's efforts to eradicate the scourge of human trafficking,” the memo said.

The memo was sent weeks after a Justice Department watchdog report alleged several Drug Enforcement Administration agents attended "sex parties" with prostitutes in an unnamed “host country” paid for by local drug cartels.

“To be fair (not that Holder deserves fair) the memo regards conduct while in other countries where prostitution is legal. So technically this isn’t a matter of law.”

Appears to me that the “root” problem (pun intended) is too many young healthy guys with too much free time in their hands. I’m thinking the SS should return to Treasury where they can take on other endeavors when not doing security.

Hmmmmm…… Holder regretting his participation in peddling pardons when he worked for Bill Clinton?

Perhaps he’s thinking about repentance.

….Nah.

"I thought Holder retired?"

Nope. Awaiting Senate approval of nominee Loretta Lynch.

Who said she would do exactly what Holder has done, no exceptions. In other words, Fast and Furious sending weapons to Mexican Cartels to murder teenagers in Juarez and hundreds of other Mexicans is not a problem for her, and nobody should be punished.

Last I heard they were part of the Treasury Department, not Justice.

I think they moved from Treasury to Homeland Security. That's when all the problems started.

When DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE employees have to be reminded to NOT BREAK THE LAW !!!

He is referring to employees deployed outside the country. In many countries prostitution is perfectly legal.

It doesn't matter - Holder and most of his DOJ are worse than whores themselves.

At least the whores make a living on their own backs - not on the backs of honest citizens.

technically my bleep——US law DOES NOT give public employees any prerogative to violate foreign law of any sort. If they are traveling outside CONUS on official business they are absolutely subject to US law.

Read what I posted.

The memo refers to employees traveling to foreign countries where prostitution is legal.

The point of the memo is not to avail themselves even where it is legal. Exactly as has been the case with the military for decades.

Neither I nor the original article indicated that violating foreign laws was okay.

As for prostitution, you will find that all of those laws are at the state level.

Years ago. I worked for the Federal government near Detroit, MI. the GSA built a new Federal building in the heart of the city. Street people and others thought the lobby was an excellent place to stay warm in the winter and conduct business.
I was there 4 years, they never were removed.
