Obama: Ban Parents from Having Children Counseled Not to be ‘LGBTQ+’

President Barack Obama, through a statement posted Wednesday night on the White House website by adviser Valerie Jarrett, backed legislation that would ban parents from having their children counseled not to be what Jarrett called "LGBTQ+".

“As part of our dedication to protecting America’s youth, this Administration supports efforts to ban the use of conversion therapy for minors,” Jarrett said in the White House statement.

“Conversion therapy generally refers to any practices by mental health providers that seek to change an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity,” said the statement. “Often, this practice is used on minors, who lack the legal authority to make their own medical and mental health decisions. We share your concern about its potentially devastating effects on the lives of transgender as well as gay, lesbian, bisexual, and queer youth.”

Jarrett conceded in her statement that an act of Congress would be needed to pass a national law that prohibited parents from having their children be counselled to be heterosexual rather than what she called “LGBTQ+."

“While a national ban would require congressional action, we are hopeful that the clarity of the evidence combined with the actions taken by these states will lead to broader action that this Administration would support,” Jarrett said.

She suggested that parents disserve their children when they do not accept them as “LGTQ+.”

“Family relationships are pivotal to the physical and emotional well-being of any child, including LGBTQ+ youth,” she said. “Every child needs love, support, and acceptance to grow, dream, and thrive. LGBTQ+ youth with supportive families and friends show greater well-being, better general health, and significantly decreased risk for suicide, depression, and substance abuse.

“Countless families and guardians across the country proudly support their LGBTQ+ children,” Jarrett said. “Too many LGBTQ+ youth, however, lack this support system, which can have devastating consequences. Negative family reactions to LGBTQ+ youth can be perceived as rejection by children, often contributing to serious health issues and inhibiting a child’s development and well-being. And when it comes to LGBTQ+ youth, some actions by family and caregivers can be harmful, despite even the best intentions.

“This Administration,” she said, “believes that young people should be valued for who they are, no matter what they look like, where they’re from, the gender with which they identify, or who they love.”

Jarrett’s statement was preceded by a quotation from President Barack Obama describing a “young man” who is “wrestling with a secret.”

“Tonight, somewhere in America, a young person, let's say a young man, will struggle to fall to sleep, wrestling alone with a secret he's held as long as he can remember. Soon, perhaps, he will decide it's time to let that secret out. What happens next depends on him, his family, as well as his friends and his teachers and his community. But it also depends on us -- on the kind of society we engender, the kind of future we build.”

Jarrett’s statement was posted in response to a petition posted on the White House website in January that called for a “law to ban all LGBTQ+ conversion therapy." The petition had approximately 120,000 signers.

I do not hate gay people, a few years ago at thanskgiving day dinner, a member of our family decided she was lesbian and proceeded to let us know, that in her mind it’s normal.. After hearing all the spew, and most of my family members saying we love you whatever you decide to be was considerate at the moment. Later in the evening I had a chance to talk with this young lady and did so directly. I let her know I was not her judge and did not want to be, however in my belief her outlook was not realistic.. I explained that God would not declare His disdain for bi sexuality, homosexuality etc and put that in the person at birth. it is a choice, one with many ramifications. Much more to do with life than focus on sex..
At first she was deeply offended and let the family know I was a hater and intolerant..they came up to me, and I explained myself again, to the whole family..

That’s ok, about 6 months later, we met again and she pulled me aside and thanked me for the honesty, smiled and said, the heck with all that..I have better things to do with my life, like serving a rightious God, through Christ.

I would recommend that we demand that any teaching that homosexual behavior is ok, include health warnings on risky behaviors such as anal sex can stretch the anal muscles and sphincter and lead to a need to wear adult diapers. There are a lot mre serious affects, but that one is so gross that teen agers would think twice.

I wonder if health insurance covers adult diapers.

This is the entirely predictable result of the abandonment of all moral standards other than “consenting adult,” with “adult” redefined ever-younger.

A 16-year-old girl (”assigned at birth”) in our local high school committed suicide last month by running in front of a truck on a dark street. The young person was “questioning” whether (no pronoun) was “lesbian,” “transgendered” or freepin’ whatall.

The young person’s mother is now an activist regarding the need for total acceptance of Whatall. Of course she is, because otherwise, she would have to question her decision to have three children without a father (or fathers) in the home, but with her live-in sex-partner who was abusing both her and the children. It’s much easier to believe that her child must have been “born the wrong gender.”

This is only going to snowball, because more and more children are being brought up in dysfunctional and abusive households, with the predictable impact on their physical and mental health. However, it is not acceptable to question the free choices of consenting adults, so the psychological trauma to the children has to be explained away.

When “gender confusion” loses its novelty, watch for “species confusion,” in which the miserable victims of their parents’ “freedom” decide that being puppies or ponies would help to ease their pain.

I once spoke to a woman who was in a group for women survivors of sex abuse. All the women in the group were lesbian and had been abused sexually and/or physically by the male authority figure in the home. The woman I spoke to was not a lesbian, but had been abused sexually by both parents and all male siblings from an early age.

Laz, don’t believe it was considered morally superior to monogamy in Ancient Greece. I think Plato had young male lovers which was accepted at the time.. His student, Aristotle was married, had a beloved son and was buried next to his wife. This era is pre-original sin. Their gods were distant and rarely moral heros. Aristotle moved theology away from morality entirely with his belief in the Prime Mover disinterested in his creation. I guess I’d classify myself as Aristotelian in the moral sphere. As the devil seeks all to worship him rather than God, and does so thru proxy servants in creating an alternative society, then where this is heading is that of the gov. penalizing those who seek to raise their children with Biblical morals.

Specifically, since under the ACA then the gov. is responsible for the psychological health of the family, then those families to refuse to conform to its ethos by teaching that sodomy is sin and harmful , and do not provide positive homosexual role models, and dolls for boys, etc., will suffer the loss of their children until they conform.

If any don't believe it, get back to me in a few years.
