In a recent post about the small Indiana pizza shop that came under fire for the owners stand against catering a hypothetical gay wedding, Western Journalism told you about the amazing amount of money supporters donated to provide financial relief after bitter controversy and threats forced the family-owned restaurant to close.
Memories Pizza, run by Kevin OConnor and his daughter Crystal in the tiny town of Walkerton, Ind., plans to re-open on Wednesday. The OConnors say theyre incredibly grateful for all the encouragement from friends and customers, and for the more than $842,000 that some 30,000 well-wishers donated through a GoFundMe campaign. Individuals associated with The Blaze set up the fundraising effort.
In a report that first appeared in The Daily Mail, Mr. OConnor says that as much as his little pizza parlor could use all that money he explains that Memories sells a little over 100 pizzas a week he and his daughter plan to share their newfound wealth.
They revealed they are set to share their new fortune with disabled children, a womens help group, firefighters, police trusts, Christian churches, and Washington florist Barronelle Stutzman, 70, who was fined after declaring she would not serve a gay wedding.
As for his religious beliefs and how they may have been influenced by the furor over his pizza parlors backing of Indianas recently enacted Religious Freedom Restoration Act, Kevin OConnor tells The Daily Mail he still feels the same about not supporting a gay marriage celebration.
If any child of mine came out as gay and entered into a gay marriage, I would still love them, but Daddy wouldnt be going to the wedding.'
And here are OConnors thoughts about all the hateful comments and frightening threats of violence made against his business and his family:
I dont hate these people. They are just angry. I am not really sure what they are so angry about.
So many things today are topsy turvey. What used to be wrong is now right and what used to be right is now wrong. I dont hold anything against them.
As soon as I saw the pic I thought that would make a great tshirt and as I scrolled down there you were discussing it. If you make bumper stickers, I want one.
I do not know who created it. I only first saw it myself two days ago on Free Republic. I thought it was exceptionally good at the time, but after having thought about it for those past two days I realized it was a perfect tool to hammer back at them.
It needs to be made into stickers, and those stickers need to be slapped on the doors and windows of Apple Stores and Walmarts, and any other Homofascist supporting corporation.
Their businesses need to be hurt by their deliberate efforts to offend and marginalize Christians, and making them wear their ideological position in graphic form is one of the best ways to do it I think.
Personally, I would start a foundation to transform transsexuals back to their original gender .... simply to watch the left go berserk.
Beautiful people who truly understand what it means to be a Christian!
” Evil never sleeps, and it holds a grudge.”
Amen on that. This guy and his daughter might be the target of an Executive Action or on the tip of the spear of the DOJ.
Yeah me too. He was helped and now he is helping back. Instead of creating chaos and burning down businesses.
Although many people have come to the defense of Memories Pizza, the individual who took the initiative to act and set up the gofundme page that raised that significant sum for Memories Pizza was radio talk show host and writer, Dana Loesch. Perhaps someone else would have done it eventually but she got there first.
I had a feeling that they would be doing this, donating the excess to charities that support their Christian faith.
I am happy that they really walk the walk.
“I do know someone who makes t-shirts. Do you know who created this?”

FReep Mail me if you find out who did the artwork and your friend makes t-shirts using it. I’d like to buy one. Thanks.
OK, OK, Mr. Gaystapo! I baked your cake. Now go ahead and eat it.
I dare you.
My thoughts too. I'll bet Eric Holder has the Lois Lerner crew gearing up to go after them in one way or another.
“Memories Pizza, run by Kevin OConnor and his daughter Crystal in the tiny town of Walkerton, Ind., plans to re-open on Wednesday.”
How long will it be before the gaystapo will try to make an example of them again? And what will the reaction be?
I have to tell you, that will go down as one of my favorite replies on this site. I did not have Kelly's Hero's in mind at all when I left my reply and at first I was baffled by your post. Then the smile slowly emerged as I realized your pure genius and I cracked up, given that I truly have no idea how many times I've seen that movie and it being one of those movies that you have to watch if you come across while channel surfing. Well done. I just have to add one thing:
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
Oddball stole that movie in my opinion.
I have this on my work laptop as wallpaper for now. Sums up how I feel when someone calls me up with yet another printer problem. I despise printers to no end.
I dont hate these people. They are just angry. I am not really sure what they are so angry about.
........................
They’re angry because they know they aren’t God, so they hate everyone who loves Him.
