In Arabic bathrooms, the "ass cleaner" is a sprayer on a hose located on the right side of the commode, not at all different from a typical kitchen sink spray handle. Using it hygienically takes some practice. The commodes and floors in public bathrooms are always dripping wet with water (and whatever else) from the spraying and someone (typically a Pakistani indentured servant) is constantly cleaning them.
