“Christians are being declared the lawbreakers when we are simply living by what we have always believed and by a set of laws that the culture historically has agreed to.”

Exactly! Preserving what we have believed for thousands of years isn't at all unreasonable.

I see this as more of a Concord Bridge moment ...

If they would have a war, let it begin here.

Exactly! No civilization in the world has ever viewed marriage to be but between a man and a woman. There is no such thing a same sex marriage.

For 1000s and 1000s of years marriage has never been anything but between a man and a woman.

In an unrelated story, Pat Buchanan has also called for resistance to any court decision that imposes a new definition of marriage upon the states.

Resistance? I was thinking nullification by way of 10A. The Constitution says nothing about marriage.

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

You won’t get any civil disobedience from the ELCA, which is ironic since Bonhoffer is the closest thing to a saint that the Lutheran Church has.

I agree with reacting against a terrible SCOTUS decision on this, but wouldn’t it make at least as much sense to march now and show them how serious we’re taking this.

1. Forced compliance with Sin!

2. Declaring Parents to be Irrelevant. (Meaning: the state OWNS the children)

3. Government Siding AGAINST Religion.

Dobson and Falwell both said that they would be arrested during Operation Rescue - Summer of 1988 - Atlanta.

So, we shall see.

Some good news for a change. It’s time for us Christians to stop turning the other cheek and loving our enemies.

If they truly mean what they say then the jails and prisons will need to emptied of thieves, muggers, rapist and murders to accommodate the crowd as I suspect a good number of the congregations will accompany the pastors in resistance (MAYBE).

Then again I have heard conspiracy theorist claim there are already built interment camps for just such a purpose, I do not reject the claim but if in this instance the SCOTUS goes against the constitution we will see, such facilities will be necessary if Evangelical leaders mean what they say.

As much as I admire Bonhoeffer, I have no desire to be him.

Better to take real steps before the fascists get that kind of power.

Steps that to date I have to say, sadly, many if not most of these “leaders” have refused to take.

And I’m talking simple steps based on principle, acting within a peaceful, lawful, political framework.

This article would be laughable if it wasnt so sad. So the major, huge threat that Christians bring is to hold the opinion that SCOTUS as an illegitimate institution.

Ooooh, that’ll show em! As if Roe v Wade wasn’t enough. As if countless other decisions weren’t enough. But now, we’re really gonna show ‘em. And if that doesn’t work then...then..Christians might get real ugly and take them off their HOLIDAY card lists!

I have said it before and I will keep saying it. If we fold on this it is a small step to legalized incest, polygamy, bestiality, etc.....

I have been accused of the logical fallacy of steep slope-ism but you tell me where the hell will we draw the line if not here.

By the way, it was seventy years ago today, on April 8th, 1945, that “Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Wilhelm Canaris, and other anti-Nazis were convicted and sentenced to death by an SS drumhead court-martial presided over by Otto Thorbeck. At dawn the next day...Bonhoeffer and Canaris [and others] were hanged in the Flossenbürg concentration camp. They were forced to strip naked before being taken to the gallows. The camp was liberated two weeks later by American forces.”

Perhaps we will have the sad role to see how this generation of Christians performs under the kind of real persecution endured by Bonhoeffer. I hope not, but the longer we take to clean up our own house and begin to do right, using the simple, peaceful political means we already possess, the more likely it becomes.

Patriots, please bear in mind that if it weren’t for the ill-conceived 17th Amendment (17A), state lawmakers foolishly giving up their voices in Congress by ratifying that amendment, that there would probably be all different faces on the Supreme Court at this time who would probably clarify the following about the constitutionality of gay marriage.

Pro-gay, PC interpretations of the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause aside, the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect gay marriage.

Also, the Constitution’s silence about marriage means that it is uniquely a state-power issue, no business of the feds.

So despite what pro-gay activist justice probably want low-information citizens to think about the constitutionality of gay marriege, the states are actually free to make laws which prohibit constitutionally unprotected gay marriage, as long as such laws don’t also unreasonably abridge constitutionally enumerated rights.

Getting back to 17A, if that amendment had never been ratified then state soveregnty-respecting justices would probably not only be deciding the issue, but patriots would be much less concerned that pro-gay activist justices would try to use the case as a lever to establish gay rights outside the framework of the Constitution to win votes for RINOs and Democrats.

The 17th Amendment needs to disappear.
