***She cleverly began to change firearm adjectives and successfully demonized firearms based on simple cosmetics.***

She did not start this, it was started back in 1962 when Thomas J Dodd and Emanuel Cellar proposed a handgun registration scheme. Long guns would not be affected, they said! Oh yes, they also wanted a BAN on the import of foreign “Saturday Night Specials” and 5 shot bolt action army surplus rifles. The real reason for this was to protect their own firearm industries in the NE.

Real demonization began in 1968 with the murder of Bobby Kennedy. Gun owners were put through hell in those years and Congress passed the 1968 gun control Act into law.

The libs were so thrilled to ban import of army surplus rifles and small handguns they failed to realize that the did not ban the very firearm used to kill Bobby.

So they then came back with demands to ban ALL handguns.

Senate had SUPER majority
as did the house (huge majority)

For YEARS after Nixon won- (November 1968, took over in Jan 1969)- Republicans WERE BLAMED FOR every thing!-
Vietnam- increased national debt, cold war- rACE

Actually, Dodd did nothing for the firearm industries in the NE. He did it for himself.

He had a habit of “investigating” different industries with the plan to make laws to make it difficult for them to operate. Then he would get all kinds of money from the industry to drop the plan. After that, he would move on to the next industry to pressure. It just so happened that he was pressuring the firearms industry for bribes when MLK and RFK were assassinated. The rest is history.

The elder Dodd was so dishonest in his shaking down various industries for money that he was censured by Congress. His son was not must better, but he did not get caught.
