If Rahm Emanuel defeats Cook County Commissioner Jesus Chuy Garcia to win re-election as mayor of Chicago on Tuesday, it wont be because hes made the city a better place to live. He hasnt.

[Rhambo has made] Chicago feel more like a confederation of 50 wards than a single city. And in most of those places, life has become more of a hassle. The libraries are open only half a day on Mondays. (And thats a compromise after the mayor initially closed them all day.) Speed cameras spit out $35 tickets for going 36 miles an hour in a 30 zone. In the poor neighborhoods where Emanuel closed 50 schools, the children walk farther every morning and afternoon, often crossing gang boundary lines. Water rates have nearly doubled.
These may sound like petty aggravations, but they eventually add up to the question Do I really want to keep putting up with this? Between July 2013 and July 2014, Illinois lost 10,000 residents, in its first population drop since the 1980san indication that the state and presumably the city have become less livable.

Rahm Emanuel cant say hell make Chicago a better place to live, because he hasnt. He can only claim that Chuy Garcia will make it worse.

It's apparently going to take a lot of dead people voting to get Rhambo past his completely unknown opponent in this runoff!
Princess Tutu isn’t good for anyone.
When will the people of Chicago, and even the whole US ever wake up to the fact that the worst places to live are ALL controlled by DEMOCRATS and most have been for decades and decades?
When was the last time Chi-Town HAD A REPUBLICAN MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL??.....................EVER?..........
Maybe they should elect Anthony Weiner...............
HI..Im the Mob;s Guy,...Vote for me eh ???
Let me guess. If he loses, it’ll be ‘cause those Chicago idiots elect an even BIGGER loony lefty.
So many Socialists so little time.
The last Republican mayor of Chicago was William Hale Thompson, who left office in 1931. Al Capone was a supporter of his. Thompson was, by most accounts, flamboyant and corrupt. So I guess it’s a Chicago thing.
You can say whatever you want about “The Weiner”....dancing, prancing Tutu Princess isn’t one of them. :0)
At least we know Tony has one...................
Mexican socialist vs Kapo socialist. Not much of a choice.
LOL - how long do you think the bikes would last on the South Side?
Oh. I do agree, really. However, as a vestige of the Obama and Clinton administrations, I would dearly love to see Princess Tutu discredited and shunned by the voters in this election. To me, it would be a validation of the concept that the Clinton/Obama era is coming to an end.
Not just Chicago, but every big city is vulnerable for corruption, no matter what the letter following the mayor’s name. Big city money is too tempting a prize to be left untouched by those who would squander the peoples’ hard earned dollars for their own gratification. Even in biblical times, corrupt kings, satraps, judges and officials were a problem to be either dealt with or suffer from.
Exodus 23:8
Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds those who see and twists the words of the innocent.
1 Samuel 8:3
But his [Samuel’s] sons did not follow his ways. They turned aside after dishonest gain and accepted bribes and perverted justice.
Ezra 4:5
They bribed officials to work against them [Rebuilding of Jerusalem wall after the Babylonian captivity] and frustrate their plans during the entire reign of Cyrus king of Persia and down to the reign of Darius king of Persia.
Proverbs 15:27
The greedy bring ruin to their households, but the one who hates bribes will live.
Proverbs 29:4
By justice a king gives a country stability, but those who are greedy for bribes tear it down.
That’s Mr. Abedlin to you!
It is a step up though. Chicago was run by a kleptocratic organized crime family for decades.
Anthony may be forgiven his peccadilloes if he is acting as her “beard”................
As horrible as Rahm Emanuel is, at least he tried to reign in some teachers’ union and spending excesses. Anyone who defeats him will drive Chicago right over a cliff.
