Generally, I’d say the Frats are entitled to around twenty million in damages, and the university ought to claim ten to twenty million in damages.

The sideshow will be if the frats sue both the university and the Rolling Stone magazine, which I think both are at fault. Depending on who sits on the jury...I think damages could be significant.

Governments (and the Univ of VA is a state funded university and hence an arm of the Commonwealth’s government) cannot sue for defamation, libel or slander.
