Lovefest: Tesla Model S Owners More Likely To Recommend The Brand
FOX News ^ | March 30, 2015 | Bengt Halvorsen

While Tesla Motors continues to fight it out on a state level with dealership groups—most recently gaining ground in Georgia but getting shut out in West Virginia—one thing is for sure about the automaker's product: The Tesla Model S is, again and by far, the most-loved vehicle in the U.S.

The Tesla Model S, according to the market-research firm Strategic Vision, boasts figures of ‘love’ from their overall vehicle experience that handily top those for much-loved sports-car models like the Porsche Boxster and 911.

A whopping 92 percent of owners of the Model S summed their experience in the top “I Love It” box. It’s a pretty good indication of what a disruptive product the 2015 Tesla Model S continues to be.

...

The Model S wasn’t the only ‘green’ vehicle near the top of the list. The Chevrolet Volt placed second among mass-market cars—second only to the Dodge Charger—in that ‘love’ metric.

My diesel has a sicker price that's less than half of a Tesla's.It gets 49mpg on the Interstate and has a range of 700+ miles. It can be "recharged" in about 4 minutes at any one of 30,000 "recharging" stations nationwide.

It's not sexy or chic but I'll take it over a Tesla without a second of hesitation.

Agreed. Its amazing what no union and an upstart capitalist can do. The tax credit sucks as a concept, but I cant hate the machine for the marketing.
I work for a multi billionaire and I can tell you he emphatically loves his. The car is a winner, can’t wait till Tesla outsells GM!

True up to a point: Ferrari.

I'm just not a fan of batteries, that's all.

“And correct me if I’m wrong (I’m sure you will) but don’t the batteries have to be recharged using electricity? Isn’t electricity generated (for the most part) by oil? How would that defund Iran?”

We don't use oil to generate electricity in this country. The exception is a few hours a year during peak summer months when we turn on some diesel generators to meet demand. Here is a breakdown of how our electricity is generated in the United States:

Coal 39%
Natural gas 27%
Nuclear 19%
Other renewables 7%
Petroleum 1%
Other gases < 1%

“What if there is a power outage? How would one recharge?”

If you had a Model S then you would have to depend on whatever charge you had beforehand. Although I believe the same could be said for gasoline cars since most gas pumps require electricity to operate. With the Volt you of course can power it with both electricity and gasoline.

Want to die in your car in an evacuation emergency? And block the highway killing others too?

Then buy an electric car!

Yet Musk still had to sue the federal government to get in on a military launch contract.

Luxury car buyers are far more impressed by personal service than a quality piece of machinery, Tesla is great at kissing rich posteriors, but if your car “bricks” they call it an operator problem and offer to fix it for $40,000 ! Yes, that is what those batteries cost and they are not repairable.

Consumer reports : “Tesla Model S has more than its share of problems”

Search Consumer reports on their experience with this wondercar. Also research “Tesla bricking” .

They are rich boy toys, nothing else.

“Also research ‘Tesla bricking’ .”

That was an early problem that a couple of Tesla owners ran into. The main cause was what was known as “vampiric drain” which is basically where the electronics stay on when the car is off and drain the battery. Someone left their car in storage for months and came back to a bricked battery.

Since then Tesla has hugely reduced the standby power drain and there have been no problems with this since.

Demonstrably true via illegal immigration, the weapons helpfully provided to the enemy by Obama, and the touchy feely love noises Obama is making to Iran.
Or do you think none of that happened?

“Yes, for minutes, not hours! Logic much?”

You missed the point. During a power outage, most gas pumps won't operate. That is why smart people fill up their gas tanks (or charge up their Model S cars) when a hurricane is headed in their direction.

” During a power outage, most gas pumps won’t operate.”

Gas stations by me have this unique technology you may have heard of called an emergency backup generator.
Two local ones have even tried to harden them from solar flare damage as seen in the 1989 flare episode.
