Sissy Goodwin calls his cross-dressing lifestyle 'gender independence' After nearly seven decades in Wyoming, for much of that time facing heartbreak, discrimination and even physical violence, the cross-dresser has finally decided to leave the Cowboy State.

Sissy Goodwin, who was profiled in the Los Angeles Times in 2013 for his insistence, despite an often-macho Western ethic, to lead the life he chooses -- as a man who prefers to dress in women's clothing -- is retiring in May from his job as a college science instructor in Casper.

Or the part where they themselves imply that his cross dressing may be how he has dealt with the legacy of that abusive environment.

Do lefties even try to understand what they`re writing.(Put brain in park, mouth in gear)

"Anybody who is out to hurt or harass him, well those aren't very good conservatives - or people - as far as I'm concerned."

I agree with you.

any man that runs around in public like this should expect the ridicule.

Either go one way or he other - but don’t split the difference.

Looks like he craves attention as much as anything else.

No idea why you Christians give a rat’s ass, although I would assume that the proper roles of men as proscribed by the Christian Holy Book have something to do with it. I am agnostic and I only care that he and the paper that published this drivel thinks that it is noteworthy where he is relocating his petticoat collection to. As far as I am concerned, the more men that wear women’s clothes and shirk their biologically proper evolutionary roles, the easier it is for us sane procreators.

Posters on FR are — justifiably — poking fun at this nut job. Just as HE isn’t hurting anyone with his fruitcake behavior, neither are the posters hurting anyone by calling a fruit bat a fruit bat.

He can’t expect to dress like that and not be criticized.

Looking back, he says now, dressing up in girls' clothing offered an escape from a hostile environment.

Um...yeah.

Does this sound like "drugs offer an escape from drugs" to anyone else but me?

“they plan to buy a small farm and raise goats and chickens”

Do they intent to milk the chickens and have the goat lay eggs? Maybe that is how nature intended it?

Ridicule is fine...and well deserved in this case. I saw in the article that this man was subject to physical abuse, which is not something I would be on board with.

The situation has changed, as recent events in Indiana have shown. We cannot treat any such display as being merely harmless eccentricity any longer. It is symbolic of a political position now that is hostile to the liberties of American citizens, and tolerance for this man can no longer be extended.

No harm, no foul. Definitely odd, but he’s demanding nothing of me and he’s free to live his life as he chooses.

His sexual fetish is newsworthy only because the liberal media has an agenda to push.

A man who adopts the name “Sissy” sounds subservient and may be seeking to be dominated by a more powerful woman or by society itself.

The “verbal abuse” in itself can be a turn on for some people.

I have to wonder if he wore any of that disruptive attire to the workplace.
