Ridicule is fine...and well deserved in this case. I saw in the article that this man was subject to physical abuse, which is not something I would be on board with.

The situation has changed, as recent events in Indiana have shown. We cannot treat any such display as being merely harmless eccentricity any longer. It is symbolic of a political position now that is hostile to the liberties of American citizens, and tolerance for this man can no longer be extended.
No harm, no foul. Definitely odd, but he’s demanding nothing of me and he’s free to live his life as he chooses.

A man who adopts the name “Sissy” sounds subservient and may be seeking to be dominated by a more powerful woman or by society itself.
