A federal judge on Thursday ordered California's corrections department to provide a transgender inmate with sex reassignment surgery, the first time such an operation has been ordered in the state.

U.S. District Judge Jon Tigar in San Francisco ruled that denying the surgery to 51-year-old Michelle-Lael Norsworthy violates her constitutional rights. Her birth name is Jeffrey Bryan Norsworthy.

it's not known how much the surgery would cost, but it could run as high as $100,000

Your tax dollars at work. In that he/she is a convicted murderer maybe they could "accidentally" overdose on the sedatives during the surgery.

Let’s hope the prisoner isn’t thirsty. He/she can forget about a glass of water.

And this happened California?

Ironically, home state of the comedy team that made the expression "Bailiff, whack his pee-pee!" famous about 40 years ago.

WHAT kind of incredible BS ruling is THAT? Please show me the constitutional right that says taxpayers must pay for this. Denying a sex change is not what I would call "cruel and unusual punishment". The freak is 51 years old and lived all this time without it. My God is Cali messed up! Between the mass foreign invasion and stuff like this, how is this state able to exist?

”… violates her constitutional rights."

Pro-gay, PC interpretations of the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protections Clause by activist judges aside, there are no such constitutional rights.

For the life of me I cannot understand as to why any conservative still lives there. I managed to talk my wife of moving out of MA and now she said it’s the best thing she ever did, well after marrying me!!!

I think.

I was going to say "Let's do a really bad job of it" but looking at the results of those who have had it done with their own money, it seems that doing it badly is par for the course.

Men turning to women look like Robert Plant and women turning to men look like Janet Reno.

I think that's sort of a rule.

Funny you post about this California case at about the same time I post about the similar case in Georgia. The justice system has gone to hell in this country.
