There have been some recent studies showing GMOs causing kidney (and liver) damage.

Also epidemics of kidney disease in South America where they have been using glyphosate.

The glyphosate-binds with heavy metals (it's original design/use was to descale mineral deposits from pipes and boilers) reaches the kidney tubules, where the high acidity allows the metal to break free of the glyphosate. The metals then damage the kidneys.

Would that not make a huge difference in the story? Unsweetened tea has some caffeine, but not much else. However, if he’s chuggin southern style sweet tea, he’s gonna have a reaction to the sugar overload.

Yes, you’re right. The reporter should have asked him if he put sugar in his tea. That being said, the average American eats lots of sugar, regardless of whether or not it’s in the form of tea.
