Tehran (AFP) - Hundreds of Iranians took to the streets in Tehran early Friday to celebrate a breakthrough in talks with the West that may end the country's 12-year-long nuclear crisis.

The capital's longest street, Val-e-Asr Avenue, was lined with cars as drivers sounded their horns in approval of a framework deal intended to lead to a comprehensive agreement with world powers in June.

Were they chanting”Now we get to kill all the Jews?”
Their problem now is,Israel may decide it’s time to wipe Iran out.

Fools do not realize Obama is not the one they should be dealing with. The leader of the Free World sits behind an Iron Dome.

Are these the same joyful Iranians that tried to overthrow the Mullahs in 2009 in order to gain their freedom from the oppressive yoke of radical Islam, only to be stabbed in the back by Obama who couldn’t even be bothered to make a speech supporting their effort?

They’re going to have to dig a whole new level of Hell to house the Obama administration.

My guess is, the average Iranian couldn't care less about the Jews or about nukes, but cares a very great deal about the lifting of sanctions.

>>”yes and the sons and daughters of those who thought they’d be getting a better deal from the Mullahs than they did from the Shah!”<<

Excellent point.

Most who were/are pro-Shah don’t live in Iran. And, that was a different generation.

But you have to also understand how this nuke deal has been sold to those in Iran over the last decade (not just recently).

They are told “foreigners” (the West) is intentionally keeping Iran weak (incidentally, that was a major propaganda piece against the Shah 35 yrs ago - that the Shah was a ‘servant’ of America, peddling America’s interest in Iran).

They are told Pakistan, India and Israel have nukes, why can’t Iran? They are also told Saudis are buying nukes from Pakis, why isn’t America stopping the Saudis.

The point is HOW this entire nuke business/deal has been sold, over the past decade, to those living in Iran.

It’s basic psychology. Americans don’t like to see themselves at the mercy of foreigners or those portrayed as or in fact “enemies of America”. They don’t like to see America weak. Remember “French Fries” vs. “Freedom Fries”? It’s the same principle with the Iranians in Iran.

It’s how the entire nuke deal/business has been sold in Iran, by the reigme, for a decade at least. They don’t sell it there as “Islamic” priority; they sell it there as a patriotic/nationalistic priority.

How appropriate to be celebrating on a street seemingly named for the chief US proponent of the deal.
