Indiana lawmakers announce deal to update religious freedom law
CBS ^ | 4/2/15 | Rebecca Kaplan

Indiana lawmakers announced Thursday morning that they had reached a deal to update the state's controversial religious freedom law so that it states the law cannot be used to discriminate against anyone, including gay and lesbian customers......

language in the legislation states that the law does not, "Authorize a provider to refuse to offer or provide services, facilities, use of public accommodations, goods, employment, or housing [based on] sexual orientation, gender identity, or United States military service."

The references to "sexual orientation" or "gender identity" are the first to appear in an Indiana law.

....Unless of course one has a religious objection, sincerely held.

This is stupid language, done to appease the rabid mouth breathers.

Will this change appease the liberals???? I guess we’ll soon find out.

Hopefully this is the end of this liberal uproar/meltdown. Or perhaps they will find something else to bitch about.

Mike Pence has revealed himself to be a spineless, cowardly hack, completely unworthy of the office he currently holds, and perhaps wants to hold in the future.

No.

This is the theme of the democrats 2016 campaign.

The Republican "War On Women" is out.

The Republican "War On Gays" is in.

Yes. Pence was mentioned several times as a potential presidential contender.

If he has such aspirations, he can kiss them goodbye.

Is there ANY public official who values his/her principles above getting reelected...other than Allen West?

Speaking of which, how 'bout this for a law:

Any sitting members of the House and Senate who incur a spending deficit of more than 3% of total tax receipts cannot run for reelection

Wonder how long it would take them to fix things? Not my idea...it's Warren Buffet's.

I know we don’t have the media,
but this needs to be flipped to

“the leftist war on Christians”

Not good enough for Angie’s List:

Statement from Angie’s List CEO Bill Oesterle: ‘Our position is that this fix is insufficient. There was no repeal of RFRA and no end to discrimination of homosexuals in Indiana. Employers in most of the state of Indiana can fire a person simply for being a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning. That’s just not right and that’s the real issue here. Our employees deserve to live, work and travel with open accommodations in any part of the state’ - @KevinWTHR

Tragically the main point of Indiana's RFRA law (to restore religious freedom of Indiana citizens) will be castrated by Indiana Republican legislators and governor following the hatemongering threats spewed by the fifth-column media. After Indiana legislators and the governor willingly capitulate, the anti-Christian left and its fifth-column media collaborators will target every other RFRA law in the country for similar destruction.

By subverting the RFRA law, the Indiana Republican legislators and governor prohibit the First Amendment right of free exercise of religion by all Indiana citizens including business owners, except in the closed-door confines of a nonprofit religious organization, such as churches, which are being marginalized into obscurity by the fifth-column media's anti-Christian hatemongering.

By their efforts to destroy the First Amendment rights of Indiana citizens Senate Pro Tempore Republican David Long, his Republican colleagues, and Republican Indiana Governor Mike Pence betray the Constitution of the United Sates and gut the First Amendment.

May the spawn of the spawn of the spawn of these politicians continue to be shamed by the traitorous deeds of their demon-led ancestors.

Pretty much. The Dims figure that they have a “look!-I-have-ladyparts!” strategy already taken care of with Hillary, so why not go for a bonus on homos, their weak-willed family members, and impressionable young voters who want to seem “cool” and “tolerant?”

Not to mention all of the media outlets where homos are in management, calling the shots on coverage..

The guy running the fund raiser is a black conservative who works with Glenn Beck’s “The Blaze” and redstate.com, and therefore I think is probably pretty trustworthy.

If you mail it via USPS, I would recommend doing so registered or certified mail. Just to be sure it doesn’t get lost.

Okay. My subscription to Angie’s List expires in a few months. It’ll be the end of me sending them money.
