Robert Yuille, whose wife, Cindy, was killed in the Dec. 11, 2012, shootings at Clackamas Town Center, said, "I'm here today for Cindy because she no longer has a voice."

He argued that expanding background checks was a "no-brainer" because they help keep guns out of the hands of felons and others who are prohibited by law from possessing guns.

Sorry for your loss mr. yuille but actually it's a "no brainer" that this insipid piece of legislation will do nearly zero to keep felons from obtaining weapons. Or "others who are prohibited from possessing guns". Looks like bloomers and the momunists demanding action are ready with lots of cash once again. Heads up Nevada. Those truck loads of cash will be restocked to push IP2 on the 2016 ballot. And the IPOS/SPOS/LPOS/UPOS will drink the kool-aid without a second thought.

"The gunman, 22-year-old Jacob Tyler Roberts, ran into the shopping center wearing tactical clothing and a hockey mask and opened fire on shoppers and employees with a stolen Bushmaster M4 Type Carbine."

Yeah cuz thief's always undergo a back round check when they steal guns.

Pass a "no brainer" law that creates new felons, and it's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

8 ACCOMPLISHED, 1 TO GO...

In May 1919, at Dusseldorf, Germany, the Allied Forces obtained a copy of the “Communist Rules for Revolution.” Nearly 95 years later, they have nearly succeeded in every area.

1. Corrupt the young: get them away from religion. Get them interested in sex. Make them superficial; destroy their ruggedness.
2. Get control of all means of publicity. Get peoples’ minds off their government by focusing their attention on athletics, sexy books, plays and other trivialities.
3. Divide people into hostile groups by constantly harping on controversial matters of no importance.
4. Destroy the peoples’ faith in their natural leaders by holding the latter up to contempt, ridicule and . (speak against, condemnatory utterances)
5. Always preach true democracy; but seize power as fast and as ruthlessly as possible.
6. By encouraging government extravagance, destroy its credit; produce fear of inflation, rising prices and general discontent.
7. Foment strikes in vital industries; encourage civil disorders and foster a lenient and soft attitude on the part of government toward these disorders.
8. By special argument cause a breakdown of the old moral virtues; honesty, sobriety, continence, faith in the pledged word, ruggedness.
9. Cause the registration of all firearms on some pretext with a view of confiscation of them and leaving the population helpless.

Vladimir Lenin - 1917 nine item, “Communist Rules for Revolution.”

Well, if you scroll down and look at some of the comments, you will see the demented responses that show up. Nannie statists abound. All I can say in response to some of the comments is “Wow. Just wow.”

Well on the way. Lots of materialistic self centered folks running rampant in the streets these days looking for the govt to take care of everything from conception to grave. I would have said cradle but they’ve “penetrated” the womb now as well.

I believe that Oregon is lost to the marxist liberal nut jobs even more than California.

They just dont have the population to make as much of an impact as California does.

Liberalism is a gentic birth disorder.\

Researchers find a ‘liberal gene’

Date:

October 28, 2010

Source:

University of California, San Diego

Summary:

Liberals may owe their political outlook partly to their genetic make-up, according to new research. Ideology is affected not just by social factors, but also by a dopamine receptor gene called DRD4. The study’s authors say this is the first research to identify a specific gene that predisposes people to certain political views.

What absolute emotional bilge.

The Clackamas murders were STOPPED by an armed citizen with a concealed carry permit! These laws do nothing to stop criminals, who, unlike the good guy above, will NEVER submit to ANY background check, or will employ a "lily white" with no record to go through the background check.

These laws are nothing but unconstitutional feel-good lunacy.

***a “no-brainer” because they help keep guns out of the hands of felons and others who are prohibited by law from possessing guns.***

Already been done. 1968.
“Today we begin to disarm the criminal and the careless and the insane. All of our people who are deeply concerned in this country about law and order should hail this day.”- Lyndon Johnson when he signed the 1968 gun control act into law.

I listened to the hearing. I didn’t hear any testimony connecting a privately sold gun to a crime.

Like that matters to them. They’re just trying to do the right thing to make us all safer. I’m sure you must feel safer just knowing they’re at work protecting you. Right? Maybe, not so much.
