Kerry exposes Iranian family tie — and subjects family to blackmail
Daily Caller ^ | 3/25 | Kenneth Timmerman

In a greeting to the Iranian people on the occasion of the traditional New Year (Nowruz) holiday last week, Secretary of State John Kerry exposed a secret that journalists and academics have been agonizing over for the past six weeks: the fact that his daughter has married an Iranian-American who has extensive family ties to Iran.

“I am proud of the Iranian-Americans in my own family, and grateful for how they have enriched my life,” Kerry said in the official statement. Kerry also said he was “strongly committed to resolving” the differences between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, “to the mutual benefit of both of our people.”

Politicians like to keep their families off-limits to the press, a decorum enforced vigorously when it comes to politicians who are in favor with the national media but ruthlessly discarded for others. But in Kerry’s case, there could be larger ramifications.

Since its inception, the FBI has vetted U.S. government officials involved in national security issues, and it generally won’t grant clearances to individuals who are married to nationals of an enemy nation or have family members living in that country, for fear of divided loyalties or, more simply, blackmail.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Zero himself would not be able to get a security clearance. My own experience in the military and then working for a military contractor, and the background checks they conducted... No way would he pass one, just based on his past associations. I read somewhere that he would not even be permitted to visit the White House, much less occupy it.

We don’t know about her husband. However...

Granted, he could be as good a citizen as possible and deeply patriotic.
Problem is that he and his new wife visited relatives in Iran as soon as they got married and possibly since then as well.
You don't have to be necessarily evil, you just have to have something that "they" can use against you:
When dealing with a state like Iran it would take very little imagination to see what could happen to your old auntie in Damascus, or what charges might be drummed up against your idiot wife while you visit the old country, Of course, someone could also dictate letters for your family to mail to you talking about how Iran really, really, wants to negotiate a nuke deal.

Unfortunately, we all know that Kerry is almost as unimpeachable as are his employers.

“Do they speak Farsi?”

All you really need to say is “Death to America! Death to Israel” to get along.

Thanks for the info.

The Iranians, I know would become prisoners if they went back to Iran like the Cuban exile a we know.

This reminds me of the old joke where a young man says to his father, ‘’Dad, I found a wonderful girl and we’re getting married.’’

Dad: That’s wonderful. Where’s she from?

Young man: Buffalo.

Dad: Couldn’t you find someone with normal parents?

Fast forward to 2009.

John Kerry’s daughter: Dad, I found a wonderful guy and we’re getting married.

John Kerry: Gee, I hope it’s someone who will help me destroy America. Where’s he from?

John Kerry’s daughter: Iran.

John Kerry: That’s wonderful, honey. After I become Secretary of State in 2013, the Iranians will be able to threaten to behead you and your husband’s family unless I lift all the sanctions against them and give them everything they want to complete their nuclear bombs.

"Kerry’s son-in-law is a brain surgeon here, I don’t have first hand knowledge of him or his ties, so I’ll reserve my judgement on him. In all likelihood, he’s probably more trustworthy than the father of the woman he’s married to, and could even be Catholic for all we know."

Excellent point re trustworthy.

You would be correct about B.O. he would not have passed a 1970’s background check. Use of drugs, questionable friends, participation in questionable groups, family members in foreign countries, some with anti American activities, possible homosexual connection leading to possibility of blackmail note and so many many holes in the back story that look like cover up of derogatory information.
