Cell phone video reveals final moments inside cabin before deadly Germanwings crash
Fox 13 ^ | 3-31-2015 | CNN Wire

Cell phone video found at the Germanwings Flight 9525 crash site reveals the sounds of passengers screaming in the moments before the March 24 crash, the French magazine Paris Match and the German tabloid newspaper Bild reported, citing a source close to the investigation.

Both publications have issued descriptions of the video but have not published the video.

“The scene was so chaotic that it was hard to identify people, but the sounds of the screaming passengers made it perfectly clear that they were aware of what was about to happen to them,” Paris Match reported. ”

One can hear cries of ‘My God’ in several languages.”

It's the modern age, you knew this was coming.

The question is, who carried it off of the crash site, which should be under strict control?

Someone on the plane probably knew death was coming and wanted everyone to see what happened..but how did investigators know which cell phone to check? I don’t know about you all but I have no desire to see this video, I don’t need to see the horror these people went through, the transcript was enough

Carried what off?

You find a cell phone with no password lock, email yourself the video, turn off the phone and put it in the evidence bag.

Short answer: They check all of them.

Long answer: The investigators would collect every cell phone they could find, and examine every one that is still intact. They are evidence of a crime, that could be used to piece together what happened.

If they hadn't recovered the cockpit voice recorder, it might have been the only evidence.

“question is, who carried it off of the crash site...”

Maybe someone the media succeeded in bribing.

Exactly, it’s been SOP to develop all rolls of film found in airliner plane wrecks for decades - bringing it up to date, why not look in every cell phone?

...

They check all that they find. As long as the memory chips survive they can get the video.

Anything found at the crash site is evidence of the crime to help determine what happened.
Unfortunately, this video will probably be leaked onto the Internet. You know it’s coming.

Yes, I agree and remember thinking that several days ago. That they would collect and check ALL of the cell phones.

“but how did investigators know which cell phone to check?”

Every one they could find in the wreckage I would think.

My phone won’t work in my house very well, nor in many buildings on my campus. And I’ve had some not survive a drop by my hand (3, 3 1/2 feet off the ground). How did they find ANY phones that survived a 500 MPH+ crash into a mountain?

They didn’t. They found a memory card.
