Bernie Sanders barnstorms Bay Area with socialist populist message

There are few places in the nation where a democratic socialist independent who’s mulling a presidential run would have more rock-star status than the Bay Area.

Yet U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, is convinced that his populist message can resonate far beyond places like Berkeley and Brooklyn.

“If you go to almost any state in this country, including the most conservative, and you ask them if it makes sense to give tax breaks to billionaires while making cuts to Medicare and Medicaid and education, they will say ‘no,’” Sanders said in an interview Monday afternoon in San Francisco. He said working people in both parties are fed up with “the obscene levels of income and wealth inequality we are seeing.”

Capitalism doesn’t necessarily lead to the very rich. In fact, competition divorced of the crony capitalist regulations and limitations would suppose more competition and less supper rich that what we have with congress and regulatory agencies picking losers and winners.

Laugh at Sanders and Warren FReepers. At our own peril.
Do any of you see Republicans talking about blue collar and middle class jobs? Didn’t think so.

If Bernie and/or Liawatha run it would help the Former Twelfth Lady by making her look moderate and reasonable.

Good point. Romney thought he struck gold with his "You didn't build that!" angle against Obama. But who did that resonate with? I would say with a small slice of folks who were going to vote GOP anyhow.

Beyond that, how many voters see themselves as entrepreneurs and business owners vs. those who see themselves as middle class or blue collar salary / wage earners, trying to stay afloat?

The GOP is going to suck down another "empathy gap" defeat if they don't tune their message better. Coming out against runaway immigration would be a good first step, and one the Left couldn't imitate. Of course the GOP donor class wants none of that, so the Stupid Party is stuck fighting on the Democrats' terms.

Perhaps he can become the president of San Francisco. We should encourage it. Then, all the leftist idiots can flock there and Detroitize SF, as they are now doing to Chicago.

“If you go to almost any state in this country, including the most conservative, and you ask them if it makes sense to give tax breaks to billionaires while making cuts to Medicare and Medicaid and education, they will say ‘no,’” Sanders said in an interview Monday afternoon in San Francisco.

My primary problem with Bernie Sanders is that I do not think he knows what he is talking about. He is just rambling on in psychobabble without addressing any real substance, or without addressing the real issues of our hardworking taxpayers.

Bernie likes the sound of his own voice, and the affirmative nodding of low information voters.
