On Monday, Comedy Central announced that South African comedian Trevor Noah would be replacing Jon Stewart as host of The Daily Show.
To get a feel for Noah's brand of humor, one could simply watch his debut on the fake news show in December of 2014, when he jokingly declared that present-day America had worse race relations than Apartheid South Africa.
After introducing Noah as the show's newest contributor at the time, Stewart noted: "And I know that you flew in, I guess, yesterday from South Africa." Noah replied: "Yeah, I just flew in and boy are my arms tired....No, no, seriously, I've been holding my arms like this since I got here."
He made the completely discredited "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" gesture with his hands and added: "I never thought I'd be more afraid of police in America than in South Africa. It kind of makes me a little nostalgic for the old days back home."

Really? So who’s our Mandela? 0bama?
another creepy little foreigner hoping to manipulate soft minded American youth .
Go home boy
I never watched the original J-off. Why watch a clone ?
Another jerk, eh?
Wear a Michelin for your next show and light it.. You’ll feeel right at home.
What makes you think he was joking?
Oh good...another clueless, race-baiting sob will now host the show. What an improvement over Stewart. (snicker)
Isnt it funny how these same a-holes who like to trash America refuse to LEAVE..hey Commie lovers, NO ONE and I mean NO ONE is forcing you to stay..there’s the door, I hear Venezuela’s housing market is booming
So what became of South Africa anyway?
Trevor Noah is really funny. I was VERY disappointed to hear him take this job as it would be so political. We’ll see. Lots of his early routines were about coming to America to be Black (in SA he was called “mixed” - his dad is white and his mom black).
He practices the entire flight watching black movies and getting the lingo down - he’s going to be “Super Black”. Gets off the airplane and some guy welcomes him, calls him brother, etc. Then invites him for some home cooking - a taco! (”Turns out I wasn’t black - I’m Mexican!”)
Then he does meet some blacks he does the whole black name thing. “So this guy Jamaladin introduces me to his girlfriend Qwylenga. I ask them about their names. ‘Oh man - that’s to bring back our roots. You’re from Africa - what’s your name man?”
“Um. Trevor.”
“Yeah, I just flew in yesterday from South Africa and boy are my N-words tired.”
Importing slack-jawed foreigners to do the hosting jobs Americans won’t do!
Watched that show for about 20 minutes and have never looked back. What surprises me is how some younger college kids actually think he tells the truth.
South Africa is fracked up!
South Africa is fracked up!
Sounds like a diversity/affirmative action hire.
Deport the little shit.
When you’re a guest, you don’t crap on the parlor carpet.
