I understand and appreciate what he means. My dad was a scoutmaster, decades ago, when there was far less pretense.
The average person today knows nothing about being in the military or Boy Scouts accept what liberals tell them.
Scott needs to follow up that statement by saying the fact of his successful GOVERNORSHIP is what best qualifies him to be COC.
Walker has already shown what he’s made of.
I’m promoting Cruz, of course. But Walker is a close second for me. I’d love to see those two running together.
Being an Eagle Scout prepared him for the path towards being President of the United States. Only a half-wit would make the logic jump to say it has prepared him for the Presidency. The road he has traveled has prepared him. His background as Eagle Scout has given him the experience to travel that road: a moral compass:

Eagle Scout vs. Community Organizer? Fine, Eagle Scout wins. But against a first string candidate insteade of an affirmative action candidate? not so impressive. To say ready to be president because he was an Eagle Scout is about as credible as my 7 year twins saying they can drive the family car because they drive RC cars.
I respect Walker as a candidate and would consider him except for his pro-amnesty stance, but seriously, is this how he qualifies himself?!
Rachel Maddow said that this statement really scares her.
Making arguments like this is just asking to be mocked, like his statement about unions and ISIS.
A candidate should prove he’s ready to be President by blowing people away with brilliant answers to questions, not going on and on about his “story.”
It certainly trumps being a community organizer.

Well, we’ve seen what a member of the Choom gang can do, so most of us would take the Eagle Scout as preferable.
Being an Eagle Scout was a stepping stone for my personal success.
It gave me budding leadership experience.
It gave me life skills.
It gave me a foundation in organizing and planning.
As a young man there are few places where you get that kind of a head start.
But, the media think that being a Boy Scout means you are a homo hating nerd.

Sadly, while Boy Scout of America has squandered it’s legacy to the altar of political correctness, the benefits of being an Eagle Scout are still strong.
I was a Scout leader at several levels and had a small part in leading many boys to Eagle, including my son.
Yes, it’s a kids club, but the benefits they gained set them well above their peers at almost every level.
We are now with Trail Life USA, a new Christ centered boys outdoor adventure program. Our motto is Walk Worthy and we center the program around Adventure, Character and Leadership.
Trail Life has a pinnacle award known as the Freedom Award. We refer to it as Eagle Plus. In addition to the rank advancements and the servant leadership project, a young man must engage in several Freedom Experiences. These can be in any of about 12 focus areas including outdoors, service, ministry, technology etc.
My youngest son is volunteering for a few weeks as a camp counselor as one of his experiences. A week long backpack trip may be another.
Any young man who sticks with a program to the end, sometimes for ten plus years is to be commended, not denigrated.
Where does it say Walker said this was a qualifying factor?
