Firearm Background Check Bill Surfaces In Salem (Oregon)

Oregon lawmakers are gearing up for another round of debate over firearm regulations.

Democrats introduced a measure Thursday that would require criminal background checks for most private gun sales.

If the proposal sounds familiar, it's because similar measures were introduced and failed in the last two legislative sessions. The difference now?

"It's all about the votes,” said bill co-sponsor state Senator Ginny Burdick, a Democrat. "We have the votes now and we did not have the votes before. That's the main difference."

Attention Oregonians. Better start putting some pressure on your representatives. Otherwise you'll end up in the same situation as your next door neighbors. And possibly you neighbors in NV if the bloomerberg funded intergalactic background check initiative is approved on the 2016 ballot.

They have the Votes. Oregon will follow Washington’s lead.

I lost my Oregon list when my computer crashed last year, so please send me your name by FReepmail if you want to be on this list.

As they will find out...legislating is one thing...compliance is another.

“..the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed...”

but then again, that’s in a foreign country called USA...
has nothing to do with Oregon, right?

I know this one is being violated in California, and it's been on the books for decades.

That faggot Cuomo thought he would be a shoe-in for the White Hut after the passage f the unSAFE act.

The problem is nobody complied. Nobody got rid of their hi-cap mags, or registered their AR’s and very few modified them to be in compliance either. In fact he accelerated the sales of PCR-80 lowers in the state. And sent ammo buyers to Pennsylvania.

yes indeed. there are a few states we struck off our list for any further investing or spending beyond necessary

Oregon being right up near the top, due only to its insane politics

same for Wash(edUp)State and Californicate
and a couple more.
Very nice places but the inmates are running the asylum.
Rudyard Kipling described San Fransicko as a ‘mad city, inhabited for the most part by perfectly insane people, whose women are of a remarkable beauty...” but he didn’t look closely enough...underneath the makeup...those beautiful women are all guys!

Exactly. I WILL NOT COMPLY!

It’s pretty sad when the law & order types (like me) no longer respect the law.

I’ve been reading bills as part of the Oregon Citizens Lobby. I can only hope that they piss off so many Oregonians that next time around the entire lot are tossed out of office. They really are acting as if there’s no possibility of future repercussions.
