Good morning...They keep saying he had about 600 hours in the A320..OK..everyone has to start at zero..but the real question is how much flying has he done since he started as co-pilot with Lufthansa..I want to see those records..

IIRC Lufthansa is one of the airlines that hires nonprofessional pilots and trains them from the ground up.

US carriers tend to hire former cargo pilots (UPS, FEDEX) as well as military aviators.

Good morning, ken. Lufthansa is in big trouble, IMO.

Are you suggesting lack of experience was the problem that caused him to lock the pilot out of the cockpit and fly the plane into the ground?

All of them were with the Luftansa subsidiary from what I've read. In the U.S. a pilot has to have 1,500 hours before they can be hired as a copilot with any airline.

He had just over 600 hours total, less than 50 in type.
