Isn’t there a large body of water off their western coast? Good grief. Instead of a stupid train to nowhere, they could have invested billions in desalination plants on the coast. Get a clue, CA.

The EPA would probably put the kibosh on that plan - that would be depleting the ocean, don'tcha know.

California is not “running out” of water. After years of managing it very well, there has been a collapse of will to continue to maintain the system that has served so very well since early in the 20th Century, when the irrigation dams and the distribution network were devised.

The systems are being dismantled and the water diverted elsewhere for some esoteric “environmental” purposes.

A “man-made” disaster.

Agreed. They could have even built a bunch of solar desalinization plants for some of the money they’ve wasted on trains, rail and such.

I still propose an aqueduct from the soggy states of Oregon and Washington that runs straight down the I-5 corridor....the land and rights-of-way are already in place....run it right down into the San Joaquin Valley.
