Gaza Palestinians Call Power Cutoff by Egypt Worse Than Israeli Policy

JNS.org – Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip cities of Khan Younis and Rafah took to the streets on Tuesday after Egypt had cut off power to parts of southern Gaza. The protesters vented their anger at Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his government in light of reports that the decision to take parts of those towns off the grid was made by high-ranking officials in Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity and Energy.

Egyptian media said the government resorted to that measure as a result of outstanding payments owed by a Palestinian utility company. The Hamas terrorist group’s government in Gaza cannot generate enough power on its own and has over the years had to rely on the Egyptian and Israeli grid.

A senior official at the Palestinian Energy Ministry told Israel Hayom that healthcare facilities in southern Gaza had to rely on emergency generators, but stressed that the generators were only a short-term remedy. The protesters said they were unintended victims of the ongoing spat between Gaza-ruling Hamas and the Egyptian government, which designates Hamas as a terrorist organization due to its affiliation with the Muslim Brotherhood. Some protesters told Arab media that the power cutoff by Egypt was worse than the “Israeli blockade,” referring to the restrictions Israel imposes on Gaza to prevent terrorist activity.

“Even when we had the war with the Zionists, they did not cut off our power supply and water like El-Sisi the criminal,” one Palestinian said.

“El-Sisi’s government is worse than the Zionist occupation,” another protester said.

These parasites demand free power because they are entitled to it somehow.
It’s time all the shiftless who can only think about killing, while being fed and kept warm by the work of those they have vowed to kill, should be cut off from all aid. Let them starve in the dark.

so the so-called ‘palestinian’ Arabs don’t pay their fellow Arabs, either?

(perhaps if they’ divert some of their billions in US and other ‘aid funds’ away from building bombs and attack tunnels.............they could pay their damned utility bills)

Better if America stopped propping up the terroristas (all of them Obama’s been funding or defending...”palestinians” Hamas plus their Moslem Brotherhood friends and around the world..)

Its time we demanded our WashDC representatives cut off all funding for IslamoNazi terrorists dictators and unfriendly regimes.

In short, Stop Obama!

In this particular case, Hamas is a designated terrorist organization who is on the US State Department List, and they do not get any funds from the USA (nothing for their government employees and no arms and no military support).

The Palestinian Authority, on the other hand, is not designated a terrorist organization and it has been negotiating with Israel with the USA as mediator and guarantor (from the time of the Oslo Accords).

And we do give them aid and help them with their police security needs ... and this is done AT THE REQUEST of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who wants them in place to take care of those civilians there’s and NOT the IDF.

I hope that explains a little bit of it ... :-) ...

yes (however Hamas reportedly “shares power” with the socalled ‘pali authority’ the USA is funding, and controls gaza)

all the subtleties or details aside,
I believe American and European funds should not be going in this direction! No way.
In my humble opinion.

There is no “actual” sharing of power, but only something on paper. The Palestinian Authority knows that Hamas hates it and will destroy it, if they get the chance ... :-) ...

As far as the money going to the Palestinian Authority, there was a time when Congress was considering cutting off money to the Palestinian Authority, and Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu lobbied individual Congressmen on the issue, letting them know that cutting off funds would not be in Israel’s best interests.

SO ... what I am saying is that Netanyahu and Israel knows what is best for them, so we should listen to them on that one. They don’t want any funding fir Hamas, but they do continue it for the P.A. ... aside fromm a few disputes from time to time when they delay money to “make a point” ... :-) ...

Note that this is specifically Hamas, in Gaza, as they are closely you affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, which tried to take control of Egypt. This is part of Egyot striking back at Hamas!

Now, the other Palestinians, the Palestinian Authority ... Egyot doesn’t have any problem with, and they wish the PA was in control of Gaza. In fact Israel does too!

if you say so.
from a distance, it has looked for a long time that Bibi (bless him for all the good he does) is super-wimpy soft on several matters that we believe should have been taken care of some years ago already. He is always compromising, forgiving, releasing terrorists...
But I won’t go there now, because that’s not the purpose of this thread. And, given the alternative...we are happy Israel re=elected Bibi. We wish him all the best and hope he will start starnding up better for his people.

There is a big distinction between Hamas and the Palestinian civilians who live there. There is NOT a designation against the Palestinian civilians at the U.S. State Department. AND ... Israel itself distinguishes between the Palestinian civilians and Hamas operatives.

Some people I’ve seen posting on this subject lump the Palestinian civilians in with the Hamas operatives. Well ... Israel doesn’t!

Israel goes out of its way to protect Palestinian civilians in Gaza, and yet at the very same time, will bomb and kill Hamas operatives. Israel has a blockade around Gaza and refuses to let military supplies and aid get to Hamas, but Israel ALLOWS all the International Aid for Palestinian civilians to go through their roadblocks and border crossing.

The USA won’t allow any money or any kind of military supplies or other such aid to go to Hamas, but they will allow money and aid and other humanitarian supplies to go to Palestinian civilians.

The bottom line is that the USA is prevented by law to give Hamas anything, while the USA does allow humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians.

That’s not the way Israel looks at it, or considers it, or acts on it. And that’s not the way the USA looks at it, considers it, or acts on it. And that’s not the way the international community looks at it, considers it or acts on it.

It would appear that you’re OUT OF TOUCH with (1) Israel, (2) the USA and (3) the International community ... on the matter ... :-) ...
