Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) will not be endorsing Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in the Republican Presidential Primary. As Breitbart Texas reported, Cruz officially became 2016s first Republican presidential candidate this week with a Tweet posted shortly after midnight Monday morning, followed by an announcement speech delivered at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Cornyn, the Senate Majority Whip, was asked about his fellow Texas Senators candidacy in an interview with Politico on Monday, just a few hours after Cruzs speech. Cornyn cited the crowded primary field as his reason for staying neutral.
You know, weve got a lot of Texans who are running for president, so Im going to watch from the sidelines, said Cornyn. In addition to Cruz, former Governor Rick Perry (R-Texas) is expected to throw his hat in the ring, and several other potential candidates have ties to Texas as well.
Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) grew up in Lake Jackson, attended Baylor University, and his father, former Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas), represented a district in the Greater Houston area. Former Governor Jeb Bush (R-Florida) was born in Midland, grew up in Houston, and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. The Texas Tribune ran an article in January noting several other potential candidates who have connections to the Lone Star State, including former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, who was born in Austin, and former Senator Rick Santorum (R-Pennsylvania), whose family-friendly film company is based in Flower Mound.

Would have been two upstanding Senators from my state, instead of one who is and one RINO.
Cruz is vastly more popular in this state than Cornyn and he would have won easily.
Just a dream, but the events today confirm the worst about Cornyn.
How racist of him.
Hah! Ted just noted they crossed the 1 Million dollar mark in donations on Levin’s show, Cornyn has donation envy...
>>, Cornyn has donation envy...<<
It doesn’t matter what universe you come from, that is gonna leave a mark!
These people are so has-been if Ted Cruz wins.
I don’t see him not winning, but that’s just an educated opinion
I mean they will not be able to show up anywhere. Gurgled, bolling, Cornyn, people Cruz does not but ought to be able to depend on
Doesn’t Cornyn remind you of Obama against Netanyahu?
Beck might have been on to something when he said, “Republicans are so yesterday.”
Cornyn is on board The Cheap Labor Express. The paid men in the GOP are more numerous than those who side with the citizens. Sessions, Cruz, Lee, Vitter maybe a couple of others are the opposition in the Senate to “Comprehensively Screwing Americans Out Of Their Country”.
The House has a few more good guys, but they are not the majority of the GOP caucus. We have to stop holding our noses while voting.
I will be having dinner Fri. night with Sen. Cruz at a YAF event.
Why would Cornyn support the other Senator from his State like Rand Paul did to his recently?
IMO Cornyn is an a**. Haven’t voted for him or Pete Olson-our Congressional Rep-for the last two elections and wouldn’t vote for either of them ever, even if they were running for dog catcher. I just keep hoping that Texans will get their act together and find somebody who can oust both of them - and not Dewdrop either.
Texas has never had two Conservative Senators. Finally got rid of Kay Bailey so it’s one down and one to go.
Cornyn puts the Pee in the GO.
Being from Texas.. that does not surprise me one iota. Get rid of the King and let freedom RING.. vote Cruz 2016! Just imagine the freedom!
lol.. love it.
If Cruz is going to win the presidency, he will have to do with the grass roots. The media, the GOP elites, every democrat in country, will not support Cruz.
Cornyn is an idiot. He didn’t support him for senate either....Just another spineless RIno
I still rate Cornyn as a decent Senator, but he figures he has to live with the other 98 Senators. If Cornyn ends up supporting someone else, then yes, I’ll agree with you - he’s another sellout.
“If Cruz is going to win the presidency, he will have to do with the grass roots. The media, the GOP elites, every democrat in country, will not support Cruz.”
Wow, just substitute the name ‘Reagan’ instead of Cruz and that is what happened in 1980.
Let’s repeat that wonderful year when we said goodbye to what was the worst President of all time until the present one came along.
Cornrow is an uber RINO.
The already CO-Opted despise those who will not be.
