A modest proposal - how about we ban all civilian gun ownership?: Jamar Thrasher

When I was 15 I was almost murdered. That's what I was told by another teenager who rode his rusty BMX bike to the McDonald's in my Pittsburgh neighborhood to confront me. "I'm going to kill your black a**!" he screamed, wobbling his bike between his legs. I chuckled, as I often do when another black person calls me black, because, well, they're black as well.

Well, at least he spilled what bloomers and his ilk REALLY want. According to bloomers though, he wants to disarm urban dwellers/minorities first. Hey Jamar. Have you ever heard of the constitution? Oh, just some worthless document written by a bunch of wig wearin', slave ownin' white guys that doesn't apply today.

OK.

We are all members of the Patriot Militia, by default.

Ideas are far more powerful than guns. We don’t let our people have guns. Why should we let them have ideas? - Josef Stalin

I once saw a movie where only the police and the military had guns.

It was called, “Schindler’s List”

When I was 15 I was almost murdered.

That's awful!

The 'almost' part!

Excerpt from “Listen to Reason: The Bill of Rights Is a Package Deal”

Liberal sympathizers are unsympathetic to the argument from the Bush administration that a post-9/11 world requires expanded executive authority to suspend habeas corpus and detain individuals indefinitely, or to eavesdrop on Americans’ phone conversations, or to torture terrorist suspects. In those instances the Bush administration says the need to protect Americans from wanton violence justifies infringing on American liberties. But liberals are quite adamant that saving lives is not a sufficient rationale for abandoning principles.

Yet when the subject turns to the right of American citizens to own guns, many liberals suddenly find that the goal of saving lives justifies just that.

“A Modest Proposal”, eh. Well, he certainly picked the correct title for the screed.

And be sure to pre-approval for anything you want to say as well.

I am sorry that you were the victim of black-on-black crime.

If he had used a machete instead, I presume you would have been cool with that?

Not true, because they do not buy their guns at establishments where guns may be purchased.

As you know, trying to disarm anyone who is determined to get a gun is futile. Even in Great Britain, where legal gun ownership is almost zero, criminals still get guns.

I've been known to make a similar argument but I recommend disarming Obama supporters who are committing violent crimes and filling up our prisons.

It’s a modest proposal and a reasonable idea. Murders will disappear overnight in the same magical way that unlawful guns will go away. It will work the same way that the War on Poverty achieved all of those wonderful results.

“Saving lives” is a canard. If they were interested in saving lives, they would ban automobiles, which cause more deaths than guns ever will.

The right to own automobiles, btw, is not protected by the Constitution....
