Couple Sasha’s and Malia’s absence with the media’s deafening silence surrounding the girls’ decision to be no-shows, and one can’t help but wonder what can be gleaned from the first daughters’ decision to decline Mom’s Asian Spring Fling proposition.
For starters, based on the contemptuous body language and obvious eye-rolls unique to teenagers, it was clear that when Obama pardoned “Cheese” the National Thanksgiving turkey, Sasha and Malia had clearly been coerced into a perfunctory photo op and would rather have been anywhere else.
Judging by their disdainful facial expressions, it may have been that the girls realized, among other things, that having one national turkey pardoning another national turkey was pretty ironic, to say the least. In fact, that paradoxical scene might explain the first daughters’ refusal to smile for the camera and say “cheese.”
For lack of a better explanation, what Sasha’s and Malia’s absence may indicate is that Barry and Michelle cannot get their own children to obey, which may be why the FL/POTUS spend most of their time bossing Americans around and treating grown adults like adolescents.
No, I mean really. From the looks of things, unlike Caroline Kennedy, it appears that Michelle can’t get her children to do what she wants them to do, which may explain why she takes out her frustration on 300 million strangers by issuing unreasonable decrees ranging from what we should eat to how much our children should weigh.
Sasha and Malia refuse to go to Asia, and the next thing you know, Michelle endeavors to re-establish a sense of authority by mandating that American children who aren’t hers be weighed like piglets at government-funded daycare centers.

Plus the girls are feeding off each other's rebellion and that various things are uncool such as mom and dad I detest the Obamas but this is typical teens being teens
Even her own children can’t stand her enough to endure a trip to Japan!
The girls should get some tats and show them off on TV.
Maybe they’ll rebel by filling their ipods with led zeppelin and Skynyrd, reading Thomas Sowell and dating white boys.
Kids didn’t run for office. It probably gets tiring to always be used as a prop.
They also sense that they were test tube babies because they’ve watched him display more affection to Reggie Love than their own mother.
I don’t recall the other presidents’ kids being used as stage props by a narcissistic dad. I would have resented it at that age, too.
Despite being “children of privilege,” (and how I love hanging that label on them) they would probably like to be left alone to live like all the other spoiled privileged kids. And because of who they are, they may not have very many real friends.

If I were a teenager, I don’t think I’d want to go to Japan and Cambodia for Spring break, either. I’d want to go to the beach with my friends. It’s no treat going on official trips with Mom. It’s a job, albeit a nice job.
It wouldn’t kill them to chill for a week at Camp David, inviting a few friends over.
(The taxpayers would appreciate it, too.)
I could not care one little bit what his kids do, think, or want.
They are teenagers. Teenagers are just about clinically insane.
Anyone who cares about that a teenager does really needs to find a hobby.
The poor girls are probably forced into eating 24/7 the kind of food their mother dictates all public school children should eat. While their parents eat like the gluttonous hypocritical liars they are.
I’d have an attitude too.
This could all be on deck practice for a coming up hoodrat existence.
