Nice!
A classic case of underestimating and overestimating at the same time...Good job!
WHO GETS TO DEFINE "REASONABLE"?
"As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty."I doubt you will be here very long because you have no real understanding of what conservatism is. Perhaps you should go join some liberaltarian or commiecon site. They would be more to your liking.
Just wow.
I give it a four out of five:
Still alive, though...
Yeah. Because I’m a conservative I believe in the dictatorship of the proletariat and from each according to his ability to each according to his needs. Because I’m a conservative I believe forcible redistribution of wealth and all power to the state as the vanguard of the working classes. Because I can type “Because I’m a conservative” I expect everyone to credit this ridiculous collection of stale platitudes as serious political thought.
“Because I’m a Conservative, I believe in a strong separation of church and state..”
Oh. You’re one of those that don’t believe in praying before football games. B.T.W. where in the Constitution does it say anything about separation of church and state?
“Because I’m a Conservative, I care about reasonable gun control”
Me too. That apparently means that the thousands of “gun control” laws already on the books are unreasonable?
“Because I’m a Conservative, I care about personal responsibility..”
I don’t think “personal responsibility” means what you think it means
“Because I’m a Conservative I care about knowledge”
That’s right. All the “Radical Conservatives” as you call them don’t care a thing about knowledge. They would have us go back a couple of centuries. Things were better then. Are you sure you are talking about Conservatives and not Muslims?
“... To roll us back to a time when religion alone led us, to a time when white skin alone defined the rules, to a time when only the few owned nearly everything, is radical and not, axiomatically, conservative.”
And there you go. Exactly what you think about Conservatives. And coincidentally, exactly what progressives think of Conservatives. You may be a lot of things. But you are not Conservative
I look forward to the ZOT. (Go back to DU)
If the poster is the author of the blog bit or not, let’s talk about the blogger.
The blog is by Michael Charney who has a blog, Chasing Glen Beck (cause he can’t stand him.) He fashions his view as “Consiberalism” and holds the following as people that are in line with that view that he respects: Joe Scarbourgh, Olympia Snowe, Meghan McCain, and Christie Todd Whitman.
While none of these people are axe murderers, none of them would be claimed by any Conservative or Libertarian group. They are the mushy side of the Republican trough feeders.
So this whole article is meant to dumb down the discourse, turn it away from any hard principles and just muddle up thinking and allegiances.

I have no intention of going to its blog and giving it hits. I also understand what is really going on. For many years the word liberal has come to be a word of derision. No one wants to be a “liberal.” They all want to be progressives now. Liberalism is equated with failure. The libs and their attack dogs the media have tried to make “conservative” a bad word. But try as they might to destroy it, the word conservative has held up over time.
Conservatives have power and libs want to siphon off that power and if they can find a way to trick conservatives into supporting their liberals or blur the meaning of conservative into something it doesn’t really mean, then they weaken conservative support/power. They can’t control conservative so they try to manipulate it. Typical of lib behavior.

Last time we saw this flow, he had a fascination for surprising poles.
