Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” veteran lawmaker Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said while Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), his long time friend, is his first choice, he will support Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) if he wins the nomination for president in the 2016 election.

McCain said, “If the Republicans Party nominates him, I do. He is a valued member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. He and I are friendly and I think he is a very viable candidate.”

ordinary citizen voters could understand and support with their "lives, property and sacred honor."

Problem is, today's "ordinary citizen voter" has no "sacred honor", he/she traded it for government handouts several generations ago. Today's average Joe Shmo voter is primarily interested in how much of the government's goodies he/she can get without paying anything or assuming any responsibility for his/her own welfare. The trouble with that is that the relatively few whose wealth the government steals will at some point stop producing wealth and simply join the taking class. IMHO we aren't very far away from that point now.

Ted, for the love of all that is good, please don’t reach out to this back stabbing bastard! Just stay far from him. McCain is a media whore who’ll turn on you in a second if he thinks the media will give him favorable coverage. BTW, he also has a nutty daughter who’ll be attacking you as well.

Stay away from John “My Friend” McCain!

McCain’s internal polling in Arizona must be really bad for him to start pretending to be conservative a full year and a half before the election.

Or he may have gotten wind of a serious primary challenge gearing up

“I though Hayworth was a pretty solid challenger and McLame killed him. Is there anybody in the state that has a shot?
Obviously McLame is unbeatable if he gets the nomination.”

So, is what you’re saying about the AZ voters — He may be a duplicitous ornery old crank, but he’s OUR duplicitous ornery old crank?

That seems to be the thought.

Of course a lot of folks never thought we’d get rid of Old Lugie here in Indiana...we did...but wound up with Obama Joe instead...

MeCain is always about MeCain !! ...sorry SOB!

Arizona's McCain likely to run for re-election in 2016

MeCain, on many documented occasions, ridiculed and belittled Cruz. ...but now tries to catch onto his coattails.

I believe you are correct, although I think Lindsy will pull “moderate” voters more than conservatives. We shall see.
