As of 2000, Claiborne County had the 3rd highest % of Black residents of any county in the nation: 84%. The White pop as of 2010 stood at 14% (and still declining). There’s fewer people now in that county since the late 1820s (not 1920s, 1820s). The likelihood of a White person committing this act (based on racial and criminal demographics in this county) is almost zero.

Pack says the cause of death has not been determined, and authorities aren't sure if it's a homicide or a suicide.
Which means if the FBI can't find a White patsy to pin it on, the cause of death will be suicide. If they get said White patsy, it is a homicide.
